The result of the move request was: Procedural close as Moved (objection withdrawn). I initially contested this at WP:RM/TR yesterday, hence why OrdinaryScarlett has opened this move request, but on further reflection I think maybe my objection was unfounded. WP:PTOPIC advises us to look at both usage and long-term significance and it seems like the three stations are equal on the latter with the LA station leading strongly on the former, such that it's a legitimate PTOPIC. Since this is now going through as uncontested/uncontroversial, if anyone else objects within the next few months then we can always revert and discuss afresh. — Amakuru (talk) 09:03, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
Century City station (Los Angeles Metro) → Century City station – Prior to the page move today, this article appears to be the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC per pageview analysis, over Century City station (Chengdu Metro) due to it being in the U.S., meaning that parenthetical disambiguation would be unnecessary. The current disambiguation page would also be redundant since Qianjiang Century City station is WP:NATDIS due to its longer name. The LA Metro station article would use a hatnote using Template:About to direct users to the Chengdu Metro article. OrdinaryScarlett (talk) 23:50, 8 July 2025 (UTC)

Century City station → Century City station (Los Angeles Metro) – Wikipedia serves a global audience rather than an audience from a specific country or region. Whether a subject is the primary topic for a given word or phrase should therefore be determined on a global scale. The Los Angeles Metro station would not qualify as the primary topic, as the name is used mainly locally within Los Angeles County, while "Century City station" has distinct meanings in other metropolitan areas, such as in Chengdu and in Qianjiang. Therefore, the disambiguation qualifier should be retained, and the July 2025 move should be reverted. Cfls (talk) 01:18, 15 August 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose – The neighborhood this station serves is the overwhelming WP:PRIMARYTOPIC compared to the others at its respective dab page, which all receive minimal page views, save for Westfield Century City, which is based here. A previous move discussion also came to the same conclusion. Similarly, this article is the overwhelming primary topic when compared head-on with the other two "Century City" stations, which both receive minimal pageviews. For example, a prior move discussion for San Francisco station actually concluded with the participants agreeing on an alternative with no parenthetical disambiguation qualifier by the same rationale. There are tons of places around the world named "San Francisco" and quite a few stations in different metropolitan areas named "San Francisco", and the same applies here. While names do take on different meanings in different metropolitan areas, that does not stop any particular city and its affiliated station from becoming primary topics that do not require parenthetical disambiguation. I do not see how this (and by extension WP:PRIMARYTOPIC) runs contrary to Wikipedia's goal of serving a global audience. OrdinaryScarlett (talk) 13:36, 15 August 2026 (UTC)
