Hello, this is a bit long but it gives all the context. Currently in Mexico the Tren Suburbano branch is being built from Lechería railway station to AIFA railway station. The branch was expected to be part of the Tren Suburbano system, which is operated by Ferrocarriles Suburbanos, a private company with a concession until 2073. Last year, it was announced that the branch's operation was waived (it is unclear if forcibly or not) to the Secretariat of National Defense. Until that point, it was still assumed it would still be part of the Tren Suburbano system because it is expected to go to Buenavista railway station, operated by Ferrocarriles Suburbanos (Module:Adjacent stations/Ferrocarril Suburbano says "Lechería-AIFA", but it has always being announced that this is a "Buenavista-AIFA" service). Yesterday, some pictures were published online showing that the Tren Suburbano logo () is not part of the signaling, but instead the Tren Interurbano logo () appears, which is operated by the federal government. The system's red color is still used in the stations and signaling, though.

At the moment, there are no official statements beyond it is expected to be operating before the FIFA World Cup. I assume the most obvious answer is to wait until everything is confirmed, but do we have examples of train stations operated by two different operators or with such mixed operation? I have been slowly making articles on every single railway station in Zgorzelec County (see this template). Anyways, I ran into this "railway station"; Radomierzyce. It has a very short article on the Polish Wikipedia, which is expected, but, after doing some research about it, it never actually existed? The two main sources I usually use for this, and the only opens about the station, state that there was absolutely no ever timetable for this station, and no record of any trains stopping here. According to them, that exists at the site of the (former) station, which supposedly closed in 1979, (I have no idea were they got that year from) is a concrete slab and grass, as a platform, not even making the station a halt.

Because of this, I don't think the station should get its own article (unless it did actually once operate), and instead should probably be a small section of the railway line it's on (Mikułowa–Bogatynia, will write this one soon). I'm asking for any information of the station, of at least when that concrete platform was built, or if this even did ever operate. Thanks, Fortek67 (talk) 19:48, 30 March 2026 (UTC)

Google Street View indeed shows some concrete structure which could have been a platform, but we obviously should be doing better than that in order to list it as a (former) station. Ymblanter (talk) 05:52, 31 March 2026 (UTC)

After doing some more research, the station doesn't have a German name, so it is from post-war era. Turns up there is a mention of the station on jelenia.rail.pl. According to them, (and this is a reliable source, I have used it before) the station was built around 1959. This makes sense, because after the war, during this time, the Mikułowa–Bogatynia railway received it's post war extension to Bogatynia via Krzewina Zgorzelecka and Turoszów, with some changes to the line too. I also found a diagram of the station–turns up there was a station building, (1) and a toilet (2) which were both demolished in 1979. All that now remains is an abandoned platform.

Though, on the list, the name is marked in red, which means it is a point of significance on the line (I don't know the exact term, but junctions are also marked in red). It also doesn't have a station code. I guess it was marked as red after its full closure, but after looking for old timetables once again, there is still no evidence of it actually being a station, were trains stopped. It says it was closed around 1975. I guess maybe it served as another purpose other than passenger services? Fortek67 (talk) 12:03, 31 March 2026 (UTC)

As a community member of the German Wikisource, I am above all concerned about finding together and collecting links to volumes of different journals and identifying the title history. Having identified the volumes available, I try to check them for interesting contents, both information and visual input wise. Basically I am working on German journals, but at the moment I am putting together digital editions of American transport journals. One of them was s:de:The Street railway journal. In the 20th anniversary edition of Oct, 8 of 1904] (vol count 24.1904 due to half-year volumes starting with 21.1903), there is a page with portraits of officers and executive committee of the American Street Railway Association. Later in the issue (pp. 517-524), there is an overview of the history of the association. As I would not want to intervene in nor am familiar with the edit requirements of the English-speaking Wikipedia, I would like to use this forum to make you aware of this association not yet covered in our Wikipedia. There are reports of the annual meetings of the association in Hathitrust and, in addition e.g. 14th 1895/1896 scanned from the Smithonian Libraries on Internet Archives. I am aware that we are all voluntaries and so this is just a making aware, not an expectation that anyone feels inclined to elaborate an article on the association. There are of course many other interesting materials in the journal, e.g. pictures of the new power plant standing at the corner of 58th Street and 11th Avenue in New York. (I apologise for any conveniencies caused by posting this making aware here as well as for the stupid fact that the consolidated edition of this journal is found on the German Wikisource and not on the English WS, but unfortunately the English-speaking WS community rejects pure consolidations of links where individual volumes of a journal can be found.) Quite a minor nitpick really, but 1) is it better to list connections at a station in ascending or descending order in terms of order of transit mode? Ascending would be like (bus → bus rapid transit → tram → light rail → light metro → rapid transit → commuter/regional rail → inter-city rail) while descending would be (inter-city rail → commuter/regional rail → rapid transit → light metro → light rail → tram → bus rapid transit → bus). And 2) should parking be listed as a connection?

I ask because I've noticed that there isn't a standardized way, and that route diagram templates tend to use ascending/descending connections and some list parking while others don't. I was curious if there were a preferred way for each for the sake of consistency and baseline, but I realize that it may depend on a case-by-case basis. I will say that I suppose at major inter-city/commuter railway stations it may make more sense to list in descending order, and in general that parking isn't really a transit connection and could add visual clutter, but could still be important information regardless.
