Nine paragraphs for a lead?

Good lord, this thing is like 800 words. We're looking at twice the recommendation from LONGLEAD. The lead for the main article on the dude is six paragraphs and just over 500 words. This is longer than the lead for the entire country.

An impressive bit of RECENTISM. GMGtalk 00:00, 7 January 2026 (UTC)

You are quite right! Lova Falk (talk) 12:57, 14 January 2026 (UTC)
There is so much proseline and recentist bloat in all of these articles. I am working to trim them down every now and then to the general idea of things, especially when we have other articles covering many of these. Working on the body first and then we can figure out the lede. A lot of this probably should be rewritten with post 2020 sources. We have had plenty of time for analysis to be developed. And if it doesnt make it into such sources, it is probably not notable. If anyone has any questions or objections, just let me know here and we can discuss the merits of inclusion or not. But its a grueling task, so I am trying my best. ← Metallurgist (talk) 07:28, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
There is also a lot of outdated stuff that needs updating, and if there is no update, it may not be notable. Is a dismissed lawsuit notable? ← Metallurgist (talk) 09:28, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
