Instead of "Scottish breed of retriever dog of medium size," Scottish retriever is a dog breed of medium size. Quissie (talk) 14:19, 6 February 2024 (UTC)
- You want 'Scottish retriever is a dog breed of medium size' to be in the introduction? Traumnovelle (talk) 18:37, 6 February 2024 (UTC)
Not done: I'm afraid I have to disagree with this. Merely searching "Scottish retriever"seems to prove minimal relevant results. (Google) I can't say this dog is often referred to as the "Scottish retriever". However, it is a dog breed of Scottish origin. So, to me, the current introduction is fine. Consider WP:CON?

Grammatical error throughout
The entire article includes incorrect capitalization of both words, “Golden Retriever.” This is grammatically incorrect according to MLA, AP, and Wikipedia styleguides. My edit was reverted with a note saying I need to request an RM. I am new to editing Wikipedia and don’t understand why a straightforward correction of a patent grammatical error would be controversial or how to go about requesting an RM. - MOS:COMMONNAMES says "
Names of standardized animal breeds should generally retain the capitalization used in the breed standards (German Shepherd).
" The breed standards from the American Kennel Club, the United Kennel Club and the Golden Retriever Club of Canada all capitalize both words of the breed name. So I think the article as it currently stands is correct. CodeTalker (talk) 19:03, 9 July 2025 (UTC)

I think you should add an external link to the American Kennel Club Golden Retriever page to the first word "Golden Retriever" -https://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/golden-retriever/ CapFlow (talk) 14:30, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
Use vs roles
It doesn't really matter, but "Use" seems a little bizarre to me (grammatically) because the article is not about an inanimate object, like a fork. Curious about how common it is in terms of English phrasing. Luna (talk) 05:14, 14 January 2026 (UTC)
- There are 342,000 results when you Google "uses of dog", including in academic works. https://academic.oup.com/af/article/4/3/23/4638686
- A statement along the lines of 'the uses of the Labrador Retriever include' is not unnatural to me. Traumnovelle (talk) 20:16, 14 January 2026 (UTC)
