Source Needed at ‘Conspiracy Theories’ - “Mortal Error”

At the end of the explanation of the Secret Service Mistake Theory, there is a discrediting sentence: “No Secret Service agent fired a weapon that day.” This is unsourced and opinionated, and needs to be credited or removed.

The page is locked to prevent vandalism, so this is the only place to point out this mistake. Aidanze (talk) 19:48, 11 August 2025 (UTC)

Windshield Discussion

The reference to Robert Groden response from FBI needs to be checked for accuracy. To my knowledge, there was no defect in the windshield prior to Dallas, that comment presumably pertains to a dent in the metal trim inside the limo whereas there is a question if that dent was pre-existing. ~2026-36724-84 (talk) 15:16, 25 June 2026 (UTC)

To my knowledge, there was no defect in the windshield prior to Dallas. Is there a WP:RS that contradicts the source being cited? - LuckyLouie (talk) 17:35, 25 June 2026 (UTC)
Someone needs to check Reference 181 (Groden's book) to see if that is actually what Groden was saying, because it is known that the metal trim in the car had the question of possible prior dent. Maybe check with Groden personally. In any case this seems like a communication mistake because I am not aware of any belief the windshield was damaged prior to Dallas. However, at the risk of repeating myself, there is well known issue of limo metal trim dent possibly pre-existing. I do not have Groden's book right now to check. Groden actually saw the windshield CE351 in the Nat Archives, so he may updated his books. TBILLT (talk) 16:26, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
Groden is a well known JFK conspiracy theorist, so he isn't a WP:FRIND source for facts in any case. If some tertiary sources took notice of something he claimed, it could be stated with attribution per WP:ATTRIBUTEPOV. Otherwise cherry picking something from his book is WP:UNDUE and should probably be removed altogether. - LuckyLouie (talk) 19:59, 29 June 2026 (UTC)
