Aaron Mak (2 October 2025). "The speech wars come for Wikipedia". Politico. Retrieved 3 October 2025. So far, the site's editors have largely derided the "Nine Theses," including in the discussion forum for Sanger's Wikipedia bio.
Antara Baruah (28 October 2025). "Is Grokipedia really a neutral Wikipedia? Elon Musk wants you to believe it". ThePrint. Retrieved 28 October 2025. However, Sanger himself, in a detailed thread he posted on X, has pointed out errors and misreadings on his Grokipedia page. But he added that the article has sourced publicly available information on him, which does not feature on his Wikipedia profile. He called these details "correct, relevant, and interesting."
Zach Weissmueller (23 February 2026). "Can You Trust Wikipedia?". Reason. Retrieved 23 February 2026. For example, Sanger's Wikipedia page says his "status as co-founder has been questioned by [Wikipedia's other co-founder Jimmy] Wales, but is generally accepted." This notes the majority opinion but adds a notable dissenting view.
I inserted the newer one after that discussion, and again today, the older one was re-inserted with the comment "rv previous image. other image changed w/out proper consensus", there was no stated reason why the other one is better for our purposes. WP:BADREVERT (that essay is an essay) suggests there should be a better reason for reverting.
My view is still that the 2023 image is preferable since it's much more recent. Opinions, editors? Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 11:38, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
2023 image is my choice. (because nobody has responded, I thought to expand on this comment. The twenty year old googley eyed image is horrible, and I never liked it. I think we should apologise to Larry, no matter what we think of him, for maintaining such a poor image all this time. I know Larry is occasionally active here, and I hope he sees this comment) - WalterEgo 11:44, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
Both images at that link are very good. Larry Sanger, what do you think, it would seem that one of those is better than the current lead photo being discussed. Randy Kryn (talk) 12:15, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
He didn't respond to your ping in the November discussion, though he's edited since. There are many possible reasons for that, including "didn't see the ping", but it's quite possible he's not in the mood to "give us" a pic. But there is no reason WP-critics can't have nice pics, look at Ashley Rindsberg. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 11:11, 2 January 2026 (UTC)
2023 tho i will vote whatever larry sanger wants for this, if he provides an appropriate photo source User:Bluethricecreamman(Talk·Contribs) 15:31, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
2023, or if he agrees to CC-license the ones on his media page, I think the 2025 one is clearer and looks higher-quality as well as being the most recent. ClaudineChionh (she/her · talk · email · global) 04:33, 2 January 2026 (UTC)
2023 is more recent. The other image is badly dated. ~2026-63309 (talk) 04:03, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
