Satchmo
I believe having read somewhere, maybe in his autobiography, Armstrong saying that no black person ever called him "Satchmo". Should that be in the article? 141.224.148.3 (talk) 19:38, 27 June 2025 (UTC)kolef141.224.148.3 (talk) 19:38, 27 June 2025 (UTC)
- If you can have a reliable reference, it can belong in the article, if not, no. -- Infrogmation (talk) 00:01, 28 June 2025 (UTC)

Louis Armstrong (August 4, 1901 – July 6, 1971) was an American trumpeter and vocalist. He was among the most influential figures in jazz. His career spanned five decades and several eras in the history of jazz. Armstrong received numerous accolades including the Grammy Award for Best Male Vocal Performance for Hello, Dolly! in 1965, as well as a posthumous win for the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1972. His influence crossed musical genres, with inductions into the DownBeat Jazz Hall of Fame, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame, among others. This carbon print photograph shows Armstrong in 1947. Photograph credit: Harry Warnecke and Gus Schoenbaechler; restored by Wcamp9 and Yann Forget
