Talk:Luc Laeven

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Note: I am the subject of this article and am disclosing my conflict of interest per WP:COI.

I would like to request a review of the "autobiography" tag currently on the page. To address these concerns and ensure the article meets [[[WP:N]] (notability) and WP:RS (reliable sources) standards, I am proposing the following independent third-party references to replace or supplement existing ones:

1. : This official source from my current employer (ECB) could be used instead of my personal webpage https://sites.google.com/site/laevenl/home to verify much of my professional details and affiliations.

2. : This source verifies my position as Lead Economist in the International Monetary Fund. It could be used as third-party reference for the second sentence on the page starting with " Previously he held senior posts at the International Monetary Fund ..."

3. : This source could be added to verify that I am the European Chapter Head of the Central Bank Research Association, and also to confirm that I am the Director-General of the Directorate-General Research at the European Central Bank.

4. : This source could be added to confirm that I was the Managing Editor of the International Journal of Central Banking for the period 2020-2022.

5. : This source could be added to verify that I am a Fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research.

6. : This ECB YouTube channel where I open one of the official ECB conferences can be used to verify that I was employed at the European Central Bank.

7. : Idem.

8. : This source can be added to verify that I was employed at the International Monetary Fund.

9. : This source can be added to verify that I recently published in paper in the quarterly Journal of Economics, and am affiliated with the European Central Bank. The publication can be added as: Matthew Baron, Luc Laeven, Julien Pénasse, Yevhenii Usenko, Permanent Capital Losses after Banking Crises, The Quarterly Journal of Economics, Volume 141, Issue 1, February 2026, Pages 667–732, https://doi.org/10.1093/qje/qjaf052.

10. : This source can be added to verify that I was a Deputy Division Chief at the International Monetary Fund in 2011.

11. : This source can be added to verify that I authored a book on Systemic Financial Crises in 2005, published by Cambridge University Press, and was affiliated with the World Bank at the time.

12. : This source can be added to verify that I authored a book on Macroprudential Regulation in 2015, published by MIT Press, and was affiliated with the European Central Bank at the time.

These sources are independent of me and have professional editorial oversight. I believe they help neutralise the tone and provide the necessary verification to remove the current maintenance tags.

I am happy to work with any neutral editor to refine the text based on these sources. Thank you for your help!

With kind regards, Luc Laeven
