M. Masrur Reaz is a Bangladeshi economist and public policy analyst. He earned a PhD in Development Economics from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom and an MBA from the University of New Orleans in the United States. He was awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship for his doctoral studies.

Reaz has worked on issues relating to private sector development, trade competitiveness, investment climate reform, and economic policy.

Before joining the World Bank Group, he worked with the United Kingdom's Department for International Development (DFID), where he contributed to programs involving financial sector development, tax reform, privatization, and business environment reforms.

Between 2010 and 2020, he served in various roles within the World Bank Group and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), including Program Manager, Country Coordinator, and Senior Economist. His work focused on investment climate reforms, competitiveness, trade policy, and private sector development in South Asia and East Asia.
