Maasdam → Maasdam, South Holland – The village is no better known than Maasdam cheese, which receives more views. ~2026-53451-06 (talk) 07:51, 5 October 2026 (UTC) — Relisting. Jeffrey34555 (talk) 22:42, 12 October 2026 (UTC) — Relisting. BilledMammal (talk) 23:15, 20 October 2026 (UTC)
- Support the village has 251 views but the cheese has 1,894[] so even though the village is the original meaning it seems best to have no primary topic. Crouch, Swale (talk) 19:45, 5 October 2026 (UTC)
- Keep as is, "Propernoun" is appropriate for a village; "LocationAdjective FoodItem" is appropriate for a cheese. Drew Stanley (talk) 02:57, 6 October 2026 (UTC)
- Support per nom. No primary topic. Create dabpage at basename. -- Necrothesp (talk) 11:01, 9 October 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose. The cheese is called "Maasdammer", not "Maasdam". The status quo is fine and correct. Joe vom Titan (talk) 02:58, 12 October 2026 (UTC)
- @Joe vom Titan The current article is titled Maasdam cheese, not "Maasdamer", and uses "Maasdam" as the name of the cheese. Therefore, the claim that the cheese is always called "Maasdammer", not "Maasdam", is misleading. ~2026-54701-56 (talk) 07:19, 12 October 2026 (UTC)
- Both of the sources cited in the Maasdam cheese article use "Maasdam", not "Maasdammer". One of them does not include "cheese" in the name when referring to it. — BarrelProof (talk) 00:50, 13 October 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose per longtime significance. The cheese is quite young (1980s) and was named after the village. Btw if support prevails, move it to Maasdam, Netherlands as it is not ambiguous within the country. FromCzech (talk) 11:05, 12 October 2026 (UTC)
- Oppose This seems to be part of an ip editor to change every village or town naming that has a cheese named after it based upon primary. However not opposing on that basis but in the basis that the cheese is not universally called Maasdam, but also known as Maasdamer (my local cheese monger sells it as this). The place is considerably older than the cheese, and for many centuries was the name of the local administrative area too.Davidstewartharvey (talk) 14:56, 15 October 2026 (UTC)
