Comments
- There's a birth-date contradiction; The infobox says
| birth_date = {{Birth date|1912|7|12}}and| death_date = {{Death date and age|1981|1|20|1912|7|12}}but the lead and body say August 12, 1912 which is in fact confirmed at 2012 Philstar/The Freeman profile. - The article says
The Cebu Provincial Board conferred a Posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award upon Lopez in 2012.
The cited 2012 source says that the award was presented at ceremonies led by Governor Gwen Garcia and that Lopez was one of four awardees, so it does not identify the Cebu Provincial Board. The 2019 profile attributes it to Garbo sa Sugbo. So, either provide a source explicitly naming the Provincial Board or change the sentence like soLopez received a Posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012.
- "Gubuya's group" conflicts with the earlier "Emy Gabuya". Make the spelling consistent.
- "Piux Kabuhar's company" conflicts with "Piux Kabahar" elsewhere. Sources also use "Kabajar", so choose one spelling and apply it consistently.
- "Villarino's troupe, who were regular performers" should be revised like so "Villarino's troupe, whose members regularly performed…" or something like that.
- Spot-checks
The sources I sampled generally support the article
- Philstar/The Freeman (2012) supports birth date, early life, songwriting, recordings, death and award.
- The Freeman (2019) supports songs, themes, acting, films, cassette album and legacy.
- Positively Filipino generally supports "Rosas Pandan", its zarzuela origin, Kabajar/Kabahar, Corrales and Celerio.
- SunStar Cebu supports "Salimuang sa Hubog", Eking Gutierrez and Armistice Abayan.
- I found no obvious unattributed copying and Earwig copyvio tool reports 46.2% from a source but they are quotes, so no issues.
- Images
- File:MinggoyLopez.jpg has valid fair use rationale, so checks out.
Ping me when you address these. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 11:43, 4 August 2026 (UTC)
