The study suggesting that nurse practitioners over-prescribe has been completely debunked. The sample contained nurse practitioners that were employed in pain clinics which skewed the results. They study you quote even reports "outlyers" were the reason for the discrepancy. Higher quality and more recent studies show NPs prescribe opioids at similar or lower rates than physicians here: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8452368/ https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama-health-forum/fullarticle/2827714

I also read the commentary on the term "mid-level" provider. I would just add that this implies that nursing is not a profession separate from medicine and that physicians have a "high level" of nursing knowledge which is untrue. It also implies that nurses are "low level" providers which is offensive to say the least. 207.81.212.4 (talk) 00:38, 15 May 2025 (UTC)

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. meamemg (talk) 18:21, 15 May 2025 (UTC)

The phrase “Mid-Level Provider” is derogatory and offense to Nurse Practitioners. Please change that word to Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. 73.232.207.179 (talk) 12:16, 2 November 2025 (UTC)

Not done: The article already describes nurse practitioners as advanced practice registered nurses in the very same sentence. Wikipedia is not concerned with avoiding offense to anyone but with how nurse practitioners are described in reliable sources. Day Creature (talk) 14:51, 2 November 2025 (UTC)
