Misspelled name

Why does this article persistently misspell Odessa? Quality Assurance is crap around here. 174.93.12.36 (talk) 14:26, 19 March 2025 (UTC)

Misspelled how? The article lede clarifies that both Odesa and Odessa are correct and the former is preferable. cyclopiaspeak! 14:28, 19 March 2025 (UTC)
On the subject, the article lede note notes that the spelling "Odessa" is "depreciated." They meant "deprecated." Would someone with edit powers please correct this malapropism? 2600:4040:B69E:CE00:30C1:9082:182F:7396 (talk) 06:14, 4 April 2025 (UTC)

Since Odesa is under Ukrainian authority, it should be spelled according to rules of Ukrainian language. Conidering the fact that Ukraine has only one state language it cannot be brought up for a debate. If any other country claims the rule over this city, it shall be named however they like. Until then, official name of the city is "Odesa". ~2026-16786-54 (talk) 13:35, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

"Trade unionists"

The current paragraph about the 2014 clashes calls prorussians who occupied the trade union building "trade unionists" which is obviously not true. Please correct it. -- 97E (talk) 16:46, 15 April 2025 (UTC)

José de Ribas

Calling a Spanish general born in Spanish Naples, whose culture was Hispanic, Irish, is wild. His father was Irish but he was Spanish in all ways..  Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:FEA8:4AA3:D100:30A0:4F33:7416:1881 (talk) 20:22, 20 July 2025 (UTC)

Thank you for noticing this! Indeed, our article José de Ribas says spanish, with three sources, so I'll change this. Lova Falk (talk) 14:32, 25 August 2025 (UTC)
