Cruel Ulysses
Is there a secondary source for the Romans seeing Odysseus as particularly deceitful? Euripides, Sophocles, and other Greeks considered him quite the scoundrel, I don’t think comparing the Roman portrayals to Homer does them much justice, since few Greeks regarded him in the same way that Homer did.
