I'm working with Phoebe Gates to update her article. I'll only post requests and won't edit directly. There are a few updates we'd like to make to make the article current and correct inaccuracies.
I'll be posting a second request later, but the most important factual error we'd like to correct first is the first sentence of the personal life section. Phoebe Gates never went to Julliard or the School of American Ballet (SAB). The South China Morning Post (SCMP) source apparently confused Phoebe Gates with the actress Phoebe Cates, who did go to Julliard and the SAB at a young age. See People. Cates (not Gates) actually lived in Manhattan, making the schools much more accessible than to someone living in Washington State, like Gates. Another red flag is that while it's not in the Gates article, the SCMP source also says "Aspiring ballerina Phoebe then enrolled in the Professional Children’s School in New York City." No - that was also Cates, who went to PCS again per People. Finally, SCMP reports that Gates went to the art schools in succession after attending Lakeside School, her dad's famous alma mater. However, she graduated high school in 2021, and went right to Stanford, reliably sourced by Business Insider. There should be no NY City art schools in Gate's article.
Can someone please remove the entire incorrect first sentence from the personal life section?
Thank you. ~~~~
