Azores
The "List of historic prime meridians on Earth" gives the "Fortunate Isles / Azores" as 25° 40' 32″ W, but the map accompanying it shows the 32nd meridian west. This started with Revision as of 03:10, 23 February 2021. Should the map be brought into line with the text? Alekksandr (talk) 20:54, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
Fortunate Isles
I removed the reference to the Fortunate Isles, which are not well defined. The Azores cannot have been used “until the Middle Ages”, as they were not discovered by Europeans until around 1427. The Ferro meridian article gives a decent overview of the prime meridian history from Ptolemy and onwards.
There is probably more to clean up in this list for people who have time. Mlewan (talk) 20:19, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
