You are informed that following defamatory wordings "Sharma has gained recognition not only for his impactful journalism but also for his close ties with influential political figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi." are there in this page and the same has been removed earlier by me. But it was again added by certain editor.
Those wordings are factually incorrect, without evidence and based on the opinions of writer of the original refrence article. While doing so no evidence of my close ties with Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been supplied.
This is viewed as highly libellious. You are advised to refrain from adding those unsubstatial informations. Rajat Sharma IndiaTV (talk) 07:45, 22 November 2024 (UTC)

- @Rajat Sharma IndiaTV: Hello, Thank you for bringing your concerns to this Talk page. Your engagement helps ensure the article is accurate and adheres to Wikipedia's policies. However, I would like to clarify a few important points regarding editing and handling such issues on Wikipedia.
- Conflict of Interest (COI) Policy:
- Wikipedia’s Conflict of Interest (COI) guidelines discourage individuals from editing articles about themselves or entities they are closely associated with. This policy exists to maintain neutrality and prevent bias. Instead, concerns should be raised here on the Talk page, where neutral editors can evaluate and address them.
- For example, Wikipedia’s co-founder, Jimmy Wales, faced a similar situation when his edits to his own article.[1]
- Challenging the Statement:
- The statement in question was likely included based on a citation from The Caravan[2][3]. If the reference provides opinions or conclusions not supported by verifiable evidence, this can indeed violate Wikipedia's Neutral point of view (NPOV) and Biographies of Living Persons (BLP) policies. To address this:
- If The Caravan’s reporting is factually incorrect, we encourage providing a reliable source that directly counters the claim. The counter-evidence should come from a neutral, independent outlet with no close ties to you or India TV, to avoid concerns about bias.
- Once credible evidence is presented, neutral editors can evaluate the information in question, and will remove, revise, or clarify if required.
- Maintaining Article Integrity:
- As you mentioned, the addition of unsubstantiated claims about your ties to political figures could be incorrect (if citations were provided). Editors here will closely review the source and its relevance. If the phrasing is editorialized or unsupported by the citation, it may warrant removal or rewording.
- I encourage you to provide details or suggest changes here on the Talk page. Neutral editors will evaluate the issue while adhering to Wikipedia's core principles of verifiability, neutrality, and reliability.
- Thank you again for addressing this matter appropriately on the Talk page. I.Mahesh (talk) 04:35, 27 November 2024 (UTC)
