Dcoetzee-

I appreciate your work on this page as when I first began researching this company there was no Wikipedia entry and I didn't know where to begin with creating one. I've edited the page to reflect that the merger is not quite complete. I hope this is within appropriate editing standards, as I don't want to step on your toes.

No trouble, my error. :-) Please continue to contribute. Dcoetzee 21:46, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

You should remember that at the time of the merger in 2008 that they also laid off alot of workers which was not shown in the number for the profits on the other page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.120.78.221 (talk) 18:09, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

This page seems to have a largely self-promotional tone, like it was written by marketing professionals for the company. Reliability is questionable and more objectivity is warranted.

AutoNation and Republic

The Page AutoNation gives the following history: A waste collection firm called "Republic Industries" was created in 1981. H. Wayne Huizenga, founder of Waste Management, became chairman in 1995. The company changed its name to AutoNation then spun off Republic Services as an IPO in 1998. It appears that Huizenga played a fundamental role in both Republic Services and its main competitor Waste Management.  Preceding unsigned comment added by Yintercept (talkcontribs) 15:30, 7 May 2016 (UTC)

"community involvement"

seems to me this whole section is non-encyclopedic marketing puffery. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆 𝄐𝄇 00:33, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

Criticism and controversy

It seems a controversy section was added where none was needed, against wikipedia guidelines that can be found []: WP:Criticism. All the content was already on the page, and was just moved to a more prominent position in its own section, against NPOV guidelines. I am going to revert this addition and put it back to how it was before.156.233.121.59 (talk) 11:28, 11 April 2019 (UTC)

WP:PROMOTION

This article appears to be consistently modified and used as a promotional article. The controversy and criticism section has been removed by an unlogged user, with a misleading statement that it was brought back to the body (the information was actually deleted), recurrent edits are explicitly made by the same IP addresses, or users explicitly from the company.  Preceding unsigned comment added by Abel Riboulot (talkcontribs) 19:49, 11 December 2019 (UTC)
