Sources of the RhineSource of the RhineSource of the Rhine – Wikipedia prefers WP:SINGULAR titles, and the article says that there is a single source (at or near Lake Toma) that is generally recognized as the source of the Rhine. The opening paragraph of the article uses the word "source" in its singular form. Qualifying that, there is apparently a Swiss federal office that more precisely identifies some other location a bit farther north, but that doesn't sound like a very significant difference. Many rivers have multiple sources, of course, but this has one that is generally recognized, and the Swiss government seems to also be who put a plaque there to commemorate it. — BarrelProof (talk) 20:34, 24 January 2026 (UTC)  Relisting. Thanks, 1isall (talk | contribs) 20:42, 31 January 2026 (UTC)

  • Support per nomination and article text. Randy Kryn (talk) 12:23, 25 January 2026 (UTC)
  • Oppose. From the article: "it is difficult to pinpoint a single source of this major European river". The article discusses multiple sources. Srnec (talk) 21:11, 26 January 2026 (UTC)

  • Oppose. Per WP:NCPLURAL, one exception for the rule requiring singular titles is when the subject is a class of specific things. This seems to be the case here: there are several different specific places that can be considered a source of the Rhine. The lead seems to do a poor job of summarizing the article, which gives several different sources determined by different methodologies. Toadspike [Talk] 10:34, 5 February 2026 (UTC)
