Essen is not the nickname, but rather the name of the city the fair is at. took the liberty to delete that.
Grugahalle
The Messe Essen is located next to the Grugahalle, and they share some resources, but it is not true that the fairgroud is called Grugahalle. I fixed that in the article. --84.61.133.13 (talk) 16:46, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

I've added a citation needed tag to the attendance numbers. The stated source does not include many of the figures given.
The bit saying that GenCon is second in size for gaming conventions may need to be updated. Penny Arcade Expo has outgrown GenCon in recent years. Baudot (talk) 22:28, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
