- A belated thanks for your efforts to reference the article. I have removed the outdated "citation needed" tags for these statements. Aside from this significant improvement, it seems like the article's tone and structure could also use some more work (atleast in some parts), but I will leave a more in-depth analysis of the current article status - and an eventual removal of the main maintenance tags on top - to topic experts. - This looks pretty solid. Thanks for your efforts. I believe there are many more examples than could be added but overall not too bad. Thomas Arao (talk) 21:14, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
Proposed merge of Advanced metrics with Sports analytics
- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- The result was to merge into Sports analytics. - - Karthanitesh (talk) 02:33, 20 January 2022 (UTC)
It seems that these articles cover essentially the same topic using slightly different terminology. See my earlier post at WikiProject Sports for more detail. Although it went unanswered, I hope this merge proposal will kickstart some discussion. – Teratix ₵ 11:06, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- Support, as these are synonyms covering topics so closely related that they are best discussed together. Klbrain (talk) 19:54, 9 January 2022 (UTC)
Merged Advanced metrics
I have merged content from Advanced metrics as decided by the above discussion. It's not the neatest merge (it's my first) so there might need to be some work done to make the article flow better. -Karthanitesh (talk) 03:17, 20 January 2022 (UTC)

Hello,
I have just expanded Artificial intelligence in analytics by adding academic sources supporting statements in the Basketball section: Nature Scientific Reports, ScienceDirect, and Phys.org.
I would now like to propose adding a recent example of AI-assisted analytics being used in NBA draft evaluation. Because I have a conflict of interest in this particular topic, I am requesting assistance from an independent editor.
Proposed addition (to be placed as the final paragraph of the "Artificial intelligence in analytics → Basketball" subsection):
AI-based analytics has also begun to influence front-office decision-making. For example, the [[Charlotte Hornets]] used an AI-driven analytics platform developed with Invisible Technologies during the [[2025 NBA draft]] evaluation process.<ref name="PFN_Hornets_AI_2026">{{cite news |last=Rashid |first=Zahid |title=Hornets Staffer Sheds Light on AI’s Pivotal Role in Charlotte Selecting Rookie Phenom Kon Knueppel in 2025 NBA Draft |url=https://www.profootballnetwork.com/nba/hornets-staffer-ai-role-charlotte-rookie-kon-knueppel/ |work=Pro Football Network |date=February 24, 2026 |access-date=25 February 2026}}</ref>Thank you for your time and consideration. - @Chensiyuan and Tamburello: Hello! Would any of you have time to review the edit request above? Since you are active members of Wikipedia:WikiProject National Basketball Association and have contributed to basketball-related content, I thought this request might be of interest. It proposes adding a sourced example of AI-assisted analytics being used in NBA draft evaluation in the Artificial intelligence in analytics → Basketball section. Thank you for considering it!
