On 21 October 2022, Morgenshtern released his "last album in Russian", Last One. Its opening track used a sample from the track "Ne s nachala" ("Not From The Beginning") from Oxxxymiron's album Gorgorod, which is a skit – an audio message from the lyrical character Kira addressed to another lyrical character, Mark. In his track, Alisher seemingly responds to Kira's words "Mark, privet, eto Kira" ("Mark, hello, it's Kira") with his own "Kakoy, nakhuy, Mark? Ty cho, yebanulas?" ("What fucking Mark? Are you out of your mind?"). Prior to this, Oxxxymiron had stopped responding to Alisher in private messages, and his track "Gryaz'" ("Dirt") from the album Krasota i urodstvo featured a voice message where someone sends Miron respect and invites him to Ufa. Morgenshtern is from there – leading people to think it was his voice.[2]
In response, Miron released his first diss track aimed at Morgenshtern, titled "Bassline Business". The reason for the diss was not only the interpolation of Kira's words in Alisher's track but also his earlier jabs at Oxxxymiron. One of them was how Morgenshtern, at the 2020 GQ awards, repeated Miron's speech from the analogous 2012 awards verbatim.[3]
In response to the diss, Alisher released his own diss on 11 November, titling it "Ya ubil Marka" ("I Killed Mark"), as if answering the question from Miron's single "Kto ubil Marka?" ("Who Killed Mark?").[4] Following this, Restorator stated that he was ready to organize a rap battle between Oxxxymiron and Morgenshtern.[5]
The new response diss from Oxxxymiron, titled "The Story of Alisher", was released on 13 December 2022.[6] The title references "The Story of Adidon" – a 2018 diss track by American rapper Pusha T aimed at Drake.[7]
