Tracy Ann Muggli (born September 18, 1965)[1] is a politician, hospital administrator and registered social worker. She was appointed to the Senate of Canada on August 16, 2024, on the recommendation of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. At the time of her appointment, Muggli was executive director of St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon.[2] She had previously been director of mental health and addiction services with the Saskatoon Health Region and has also taught courses at the University of Regina’s Faculty of Social Work.[3][4]

Muggli was born in Muenster, Saskatchewan, but has spent most of her life in Saskatoon since moving there in 1984.[1]

Muggli graduated from the University of Saskatchewan and also has a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Regina, and a Master of Social Work from Carleton University.[2]

Political career

Muggli was previously a Liberal candidate in Saskatoon—Grasswood in the 2015 and 2019 Canadian federal election.[5] However, her 2019 result was also "the strongest showing of the Liberal candidates" running in Saskatoon.[6]
