Thanks
I just wanted to say I appreciate the message you left on the page of Quaerens-veritatem. They've been doing such edits like on the JFK page on tens of pages across the platform. They've been reverted numerous times and despite me explaining their misinterpretation of policy they've continued doing such edits to children in the infobox. If you could take a look at other edits they've made I would appreciate it AML KING (talk) 18:47, 13 April 2026 (UTC)
re: luigi/game&watch
Video game mechanics are exempt because that's a technological thing; video game character art isn't exempt. (I do understand that the article says that technical restrictions forced the art choice, but that wasn't in the hook.) theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 00:44, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
- What next, you pull a hook about video game controls because it doesn’t explicitly relate itself to technological mechanics? Come on, leek. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 00:54, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
- ... no, that would be about mechanics and not character art? theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 01:06, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
- And how often are character art limitations defined by something other than mechanics? ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 01:12, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
- not often, and it's pretty interesting! if i'd seen it earlier, i would've been happy to slot in the amended hook that actually talks about it, but that wasn't proposed until a minute before midnight. theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 01:20, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
- You pulled it 24 minutes before midnight. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 01:22, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
- i'm not saying it's anyone else's fault that the amended hook wasn't there in time. i hadn't read the set until then and there was a hook that facially failed DYKFICT, and so i pulled it – had I waited for a consensus, it would have rolled into the archives exactly as-is, error preserved. theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 01:25, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
- There was no error, which it’s why it’s now back in the archives. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 01:38, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
- ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ i think there was an error, but i think at this point there's not much to get from hashing this out further, so, cheers :) theleekycauldron (talk • she/her) 01:52, 14 April 2026 (UTC)

Discussion doesn't matter
About this edit:
Please see Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Example formatting#Separate votes from discussion and self-revert.
The hope is that people will read the discussion and maybe learn something about the subject before they !vote. A "shoot first and ask questions later" model is not so desirable. WhatamIdoing (talk) 17:43, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
- You are free to move the discussion higher on the page; I don’t see anything at WP:RFCFORMAT about a FAQ section (of Frequently-not—yet-Asked questions?). ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 17:50, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
- It's not just a FAQ section. (These are all questions that were asked and answered in the discussion leading up to the RFC.) WhatamIdoing (talk) 17:55, 15 April 2026 (UTC)

The 2026 Core Contest has begun!
The Core Contest has begun! You have until May 31 (23:59 UTC) to make eligible changes. Although you are most welcome (and encouraged) to continue working on the article, changes after May 31 will not be considered for rankings or prizes.
We are now about a week in, and it's worth sharing some issues we judges have noticed in the past:
- Understandability is extra important for big topics like these. Avoid jargon when possible; give context (and of course, citations), even for things that seem obvious; and always consider the age-old adage from Iridescent: "would a bright 14-year old with no prior knowledge of the topic understand this?"
- The source, the whole source, and nothing but the source. Instead of asking "what do I want to say in this article", ask yourself: "what do most high-quality, reliable and recent sources say about this topic?"
- Take a global perspective whenever possible. If you're writing about someone from France, consider looking at recent, high-quality sources in French. Amid language barriers, consider the careful use of an online translation tool or *shudder* a language dictionary.
- Plan, plan, plan! Make an outline, a draft TOC, or some kind of gameplan. Big articles are a different beast, and it's worth figuring out structural and logistical aspects early on.
Cheers from the judges, Femke, Casliber, Aza24. – Aza24 (talk) 00:08, 24 April 2026 (UTC)
If you wish to start or stop receiving news about The Core Contest, please add or remove yourself from the delivery list.

Hamm hook
I clicked thank you for moving the Hamm and Schirmacher hook pictured to prep. Too soon, it seems. This was for a 90th birthday, and is too late for that. The regular reader will not know that the whole old town of Limburg is medieval timber-framing. It can easily be shown by an example pictured (the commons have hundreds of them, but sadly not together but by street or even individual house), and if not shown should be mentioned. Simply "historic structures" is too general. Would you agree, Elias? Please try one of the options, or restore for another promoter. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:27, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
- Sure. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 13:33, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
