Raid on Fowey
Hi @Algerianeditor17, thanks for flagging this for assessment. I’ve taken a closer look at the article and the sources and since the actual raid appears to be based on a single recurring sentence, I’ve proposed a merge into Barbary slave trade#Britain and Ireland, added a merge tag, and made a few small changes (clarified the structure, removed the military infobox which seemed misleading given the nature of the event). If you have other sources or ideas to expand it, I’d be happy to revisit, just let me know. Thanks, -Aeengath (talk) 07:48, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hello @Aeengath, thanks for your observation from now on il refrain from making similair articles instead il be focusing on expanding the Britain and Ireland section of the Barbary Slave Trade article if the merge is passed, id like to ask however, will the details in my article be added automaticly to the section you proposed it to merge into?
- Thanks, Algerianeditor17 (talk) 20:13, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Algerianeditor17, thanks for your constructive approach. Content from the article doesn’t get merged automatically, the next step is to manually integrate the most relevant, well-sourced parts into the Britain and Ireland section of the Barbary slave trade article. You can find detaild instructions here. Let me know if you need help with that. -Aeengath (talk) 08:39, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
- Will do! Thanks. Algerianeditor17 (talk) 06:30, 25 July 2025 (UTC)

Ambush of Tamesguida
Your edit has been reverted because it does not comply with the standard explained in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Linking. It states, "major examples of the following categories should generally not be linked: Countries (e.g., Brazil/Brazilian, Canada/Canadian, China/Chinese)". Jellysandwich0 (talk) 03:20, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
- But this is an infobox, and Algeria is a belligerent in the battle meaning it should be linked. Its just seems more logical to add both belligerents name. Alot of countries in battles for example: Gaza War (Israel) or War on Terror have multiple links to countries marked as belligerents i dont see why this is an exception? Algerianeditor17 (talk) 17:55, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for explaining your opinion. The Wikipedia guideline is clear. This is not "an exception". Jellysandwich0 (talk) 01:13, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
- You havent responded to my question why do other battles/wars have a link to their country and not mine? Algerianeditor17 (talk) 01:35, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
- Which articles are you referring to? This is something that you should ask the writers, not me. Perhaps they were unaware of the new guideline. Jellysandwich0 (talk) 02:19, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
- Many examples, Gaza War, War on Terror, and Russian Invasion of Ukraine all have their belligerants links. Algerianeditor17 (talk) 05:01, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
