Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Cowden Castle requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Your text was 85% copied, that doesn't leave much, and I can't tell now what was not copied. You said which contradicts the policy where no non-infringement content should be left. Deletion procedure was not followed as page was not roe section was not blanked by infringement and was not listed on AfD. which I don't altogether understand, but you should note that copyright violations are always speedy deleted, there is no AFD discussion since copyright violation is illegal. Blanking won't suffice, either, since the violation is in the history.
If you have a conflict of interest, you must declare it. If you work directly or indirectly for an organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. If you do, you must make a paid editor declaration Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:51, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for reply, @Jimfbleak. I have no conflict of interest whatsoever and I don’t work for either of businesses mentioned in article. I’m an enthusiast and was expanding knowledge base on sports in Edinburgh that’s all. You are right in noting that Trivia section in part might have been paraphrased from the source but this does not itself warrant a deletion of a whole article which was not copied or paraphrased. I’ve created it myself, with strong sources. The AfD policy states that a relevant section can be deleted or blanked - not the whole article.
- Can you please blank the relevant section, un delete the article and I will rewrite the content. CitoyenU (talk) 19:23, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
