Managing a conflict of interest
Hello, Davidt47. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the Edit Request Wizard), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

- Thank you for the information - my apology for any misunderstanding - i wasn't aware of the protocol until receiving your message. Please delete maintenance tag - your kindness is appreciated Davidt47 (talk) 12:21, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
- The maintenance tag at Dave Trembley was placed by another editor and should be resolved in discussion with them at the relevant article talk page, Talk:Dave Trembley. It would not be appropriate for me to unilaterally remove it at this time. signed, Rosguill talk 18:02, 28 February 2026 (UTC)
- i have asked multiple times to have the maintenance tag removed with no response from DoubleGrazing - the article he cleaned up - the maintenance tag still is displayed - what can i do to help ? Thank you Davidt47 (talk) 13:01, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
- Looking at the edit history for Dave Trembley, DoubleGrazing added the tags, and then another editor came by to cut down non-neutral text 2 days later. They did not see fit to remove the template at that time, indicating that they felt further work was needed first. At this time, the only thing for you to do as an editor with a COI is to wait. signed, Rosguill talk 14:38, 10 March 2026 (UTC)
