Your submission at Articles for creation: sandbox (December 23)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Ingenuity was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of films). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Facebook and IMDb are not reliable sources.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Speedy deletion nomination of Closer to Home, working title, Looking for America

A tag has been placed on Closer to Home, working title, Looking for America requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, Elibon9. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Closer to Home (film), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. The film was produced by a company called "Elibon", which is the ananym of "Nobile", the name of the writer / director. Chrisahn (talk) 09:00, 19 January 2026 (UTC)

Hello Elibon9. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Closer to Home (film), gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Elibon9. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Elibon9|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. The film was produced by a company called "Elibon", which is the ananym of "Nobile", the name of the writer / director. Chrisahn (talk) 09:01, 19 January 2026 (UTC)

Dear Chrisahn,
In response to your message, I confirm that I am not being directly or indirectly compensated for any of my edits on Wikipedia. Thanks for your time and efforts! Elibon9 (talk) 20:27, 19 January 2026 (UTC)
Are you Joseph Nobile, or are you close to him? — Chrisahn (talk) 20:55, 19 January 2026 (UTC)
Just a die-hard fan that took way too long to get this article in decent shape. Elibon9 (talk) 00:06, 20 January 2026 (UTC)
That's a rather dishonest answer. You are Joseph Nobile. You said so yourself in Special:Diff/1183934570. — Chrisahn (talk) 00:43, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
I guess you tried to hide the fact that you are Joseph Nobile (Special:Diff/1338333588) but realized that didn't work either (Special:Diff/1338417038). — Chrisahn (talk) 02:36, 15 February 2026 (UTC)

Frankly, I didn't notice the connection between Elibon9's username and the name of the production company. I didn't realise Joseph Nobile was the director of the film, or I may have commented on their comment in 2023. But Elibon9 was open about their identity as Joseph Nobile, so I doubt they realised they were doing anything untoward. And for a 1995 (pre-internet) film, I considered the coverage likely to indicate notability of the film. The sensible solution would be to put a {{connected contributor}} template on the Talk page. Sionk (talk) 17:07, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Sounds good to me. I was pretty pissed off when I found out Elibon9 had given me a rather dishonest answer (I asked "are you Joseph Nobile", he replied "just a die-hard fan", but the honest answer would have been "yes"). Anyway, the article looks OK. There's still the problem that there's a long list of references that aren't attached to specific content. But the content itself seems to be well sourced and written in a mostly neutral way. — Chrisahn (talk) 17:22, 16 February 2026 (UTC)

Image Help

For "How To" on Images @ Closer to Home review usage documentation for the Gallery itself at Help:Gallery tag, keeping in mind Image Gallery use policy. There are also many different Image WP:TEMPLATEs (which are designed to simplify tasks for non-technical users) to help you customize your images in a number of different ways. Check out using image files with Templates, if you find that the Gallery Tag is too limited for your purposes/taste. For example, Template:Multiple image using {{Multiple image}} or Template:Image frame using {{Image frame}} with or without Cropping (image) using Template:CSS image crop with {{CSS image crop}} w/or w/out Annotating via Template:Annotated image with {{Annotated image}}. Template:Image array is yet another option. Hope that helps. ~<}:^> GreyElfGT (talk) 09:41, 20 February 2026 (UTC)

@Elibon9 I should note, I created the Article for actress Ching Valdes-Aran after watching her screen debut in the original 1985 series The Equalizer, but cannot find a Creative Commons image for use in her Article. If you are Truly the producer of Closer to Home I'd appreciate an image from the film (which I have been unable to find/watch) for use in her Article, preferably, with something that proves that Ms. Valdes-Aran herself has given her consent for its CC Wiki publication. If that can be accomplished, the movie image could be added to your Gallery, and her Article's {{Infobox person}} TIA ~<}:^> GreyElfGT (talk) 10:04, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
Thank you. Well done! Let me look into that. Elibon9 (talk) 13:00, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
Uploaded.
JFK Airport, NY - Sealing the deal
For now this production image won't be added to our gallery. Elibon9 (talk) 15:27, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
@Elibon9 Yes, I can see why you wouldn't add it...at least in regards to Ms. Valdes-Aran...she's only in the background, in profile, with sunglasses. It wouldn't be representative enough for inclusion in her Article, even after cropping to focus solely on her character. In terms of your Film Article, it at least captures the moment in the Subtitles where she, as the Marriage Broker, points out "There is your husband." But I have to ask, is there a better frame you could provide? ThanQ for looking. ~<}:^> GreyElfGT (talk) 15:51, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
Yes, for your purposes I think so. Let me look into that. Elibon9 (talk) 15:54, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
Uploaded two additional production images for your choosing:
JFK Airport, NY -Sealing the deal - image2.jpg
JFK Airport, NY -Sealing the deal - image3.jpg
Hope you can work around the sunglasses. Elibon9 (talk) 16:43, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
Yes, image3 will work for now, unless/until a better CC image is approved. It would be nice to have the one at Onassis.org but, as a promotional image, I'm guessing its Copyrighted, thus unusable. If you know how to contact Ms Valdes-Aran directly, please do, so a better image can be secured. Thanks for your help. ~<}:^> GreyElfGT (talk) 17:51, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
No worries, glad to be of help. Sorry, I don't have Ching's current contact details. Try her actors union, SAG-AFTRA. Maybe they can help you. Elibon9 (talk) 18:43, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
Good suggestion. Thanks ~<}:^> GreyElfGT (talk) 19:18, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
My pleasure! Elibon9 (talk) 21:11, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
