Hi Explicit. Can you tell whether c:File:Major League Table Tennis.jpg deleted from Commons is that same as File:Major League Table Tennis Logo.png (or File:Major League Table Tennis logo.jpg) uploaded locally to Wikipedia? All three files were uploaded by the same user. Are the concerns that led to the Commons' file's deletion also applicable to the local files? @Marchjuly: Hi, the file on Commons was deleted for its AI-generated background, a not-so-great checkered background. The local files have normal white backgrounds, so the deletion rationale would not apply to these. They are definitely non-free. ✗plicit 11:13, 26 February 2026 (UTC)

About one of your closes

Hello! I am curious about why you closed WP:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:Gimkit guide as "no consensus" (since I believe that the majority of strong reasoning was for keeping).

I mean, it's kept regardless, and I don't necessarily believe anything was wrong with the close. Again, just curious. I want to learn a little more about closing in XfD. Hi Explicit. Could you take a look at File:Performance 254 (2022).jpg? It looks like it was originally uploaded as non-free but got tagged for speedy deletion per F5. The uploader then seems to have tried to self-tag the file for deletion before then deciding just to blank the page. I'm not sure whether that meets the criteria for G7, but now the file has no license and source which is a problem per F4. Page I was in the middle of working on was just deleted

Hi Explicit. I am new to this and have been working on updating and correcting a page for over a week now in my sandbox. I was literally adding my notes for the first section of corrections, additions, and links that I copied over from my sandbox and it wouldn't publish. After refreshing several times and it still not working, I opened a new window to go to the page and it showed the message that you had just freshly deleted the page.

I do see why the members supported it being taken down as it was (there was so much non-relevant content on the page and lots of missing content that shows notability (including several notable collaborators whose Wiki pages are in good stead). I don't think the OP knew what was important or not, so there seems to have been a lot of unnecessary stuff included and almost none of the credible third-party links to verify or substantiate it, for example under the awards section instead of the numerous awards received for independent filmmaking, there were just community good works). I really appreciate your consideration.

Aaron Kirk Douglas is an American author, playwright, and filmmaker based in Portland, Oregon. He is primarily known for his work in independent film, theater, and nonfiction writing.

His first narrative feature, Freedom State— a quirky story following a lonely housewife and her mental health home colleagues after the apocalypse - premiered in March 2006 at the Cinequest Film Festival. It subsequently screened at the Longbaugh Film Festival in Portland and the Moondance International Film Festival in Boulder, Colorado. The film was distributed by IndieFlix of Seattle, Washington and made available through Amazon Prime Video. The film was recognized as one of the first fully HD films made in Oregon, shot using (what was at the time) "state-of-the-art digital equipment, including a Panasonic HD Varicam," and was the "first narrative film sponsored by the Oregon Film and Video Foundation, marking a milestone for independent cinema in Oregon." Also in 2006, Douglas premiered his first documentary feature, The Man You Had in Mind, a film about five gay male couples that featured the music of award-winning Oklahoma City-based recording artist, Eric Himan. Distributed by Cinema Epoch, the documentary was dubbed into Hebrew, German, and Russian for international broadcast in Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza, Germany, and Russia in 2007. It was well-reviewed by The Oregonian and received the 2007 Bronze Telly Award.

Douglas's most prominent film to date is Monster Camp, a documentary produced in collaboration with director Cullen Hoback through Aaron Douglas Enterprises. The film offers an immersive look at a Pacific Northwest community of LARPers (live-action role-players). It screened at nearly 40 film festivals worldwide, winning four awards for Best Documentary, including the Audience Award at the Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose and the Festival Award Winner at the Rome International Film Festival 2007. Variety described the film as exploring "those attracted to a live-action event for fantasy role-players in Washington state."

Prior to writing his memoir, Douglas co-wrote the musical Planet Eden with Kurt Crowley, music director and co-conductor of the Broadway production of Hamilton, among many other notable theatrical productions. The musical received three separate staged readings and was awarded a grant from the Regional Arts and Culture Council. Douglas also collaborated with American playwright and novelist Marc Acito, as book writer during that development period, incorporating revisions based on audience workshop feedback. The final staged reading took place at Portland's Fertile Ground Festival in 2011, after which Douglas paused the project to focus on his memoir.

In 2025, Douglas returned to Planet Eden with renewed momentum. The project now moves forward with new book writer Joel Cobbs of Atlanta, under the direction of its original director, Bruce Hostetler. The production has been entered into the NAMT 2026 competition, and a two-week developmental workshop is planned for 2026.

The book chronicles his experience as a mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Kirkus Reviews described it as "a moving memoir about struggling to form personal relationships in turbulent environments." The book received the 2017 Silver Medal for Inspirational Fiction from Readers' Favorite, with the audiobook version also earning separate recognition from the same organization.
