AfC notification: Draft:MD Barnmaster has a new comment

December 2025
Hello, I'm TornadoLGS. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Barn have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. The addition also did not cite a reliable source. TornadoLGS (talk) 21:49, 8 December 2025 (UTC)
Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Barn. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. TornadoLGS (talk) 22:15, 8 December 2025 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
Hello, EquineStructureEditor. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the Edit Request Wizard), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. TornadoLGS (talk) 22:27, 8 December 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you and I was not trying to promote simply talking about what I know. Can it be posted without the company name? EquineStructureEditor (talk) 19:46, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
- Sorry for the delay. Your response got buried under other notifications. That would be acceptable. Mentioning it with the company name, especially when coupled with describing the advantages of the barn construction, is why the edits came across as promotional. Wikipedia is a bit broad in what is considered promotion. TornadoLGS (talk) 07:07, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
