Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to George Lovi. When you were adding content to the page, you added duplicate arguments to a template which can cause issues with how the template is rendered. In the future, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find these errors as they will display in yellow at the top of the page. You can also install the userscript found here to help find and eliminate these errors. Thanks. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 18:08, 6 June 2026 (UTC)

Subject: Café Basimta edit - clarifying the connection, and the removed ceramics sentence
Hi Erp, thanks for taking a look and explaining your reasoning. I appreciate it.
On the main point: you're right that "ordained Anglican priest" on its own could read as unconnected to Jews for Jesus, so I'll drop that detail. The point I actually wanted to establish is that Yoel Ben David isn't just the café's owner in a business sense -- he's a senior, active figure within Jews for Jesus's Jerusalem operations, having previously led the organization's missionary training in Israel, with the stated goal of bringing the group's message to Jerusalem specifically. That context matters because it's what connects the café directly to the organization's mission work, rather than being just a business Jews for Jesus happens to own.
Revised wording I'd propose for the opening:
The café is run by Yoel Ben David, who has held a senior role in the organization's missionary training in Israel.
This also sets up the closing sentence about his wife's ceramics studio, which makes the same point from the other direction -- it's not only him, but a household actively engaged in the organization's outreach work in Jerusalem, using both the café and the studio for that purpose.
Separately -- your revert removed that ceramics sentence too, along with its citation to Olam Katan (a mainstream Israeli news outlet with a named journalist byline, not a blog or social media post). Your edit summary didn't raise any specific objection to that part. Could you clarify if there's a concern with that sentence itself, or would you be open to it being restored while we settle the wording on the opening line?
Happy to adjust further if this isn't quite right either -- just want to make sure the connection to the organization is clear and well-sourced rather than implied.
Thanks,

- You were using minor for non-minor edits; there is a lower bar for reverting such edits since using minor for non-minor edits looks like trying to slip things pass other editors (many editors skip minor editors when checking changes in articles). Also I couldn't determine that Olam Katan was a "reputable news source"; it seemed fairly polemical to me like the Daily Mail (a well known news source that is not considered reliable WP:RSP). Is there at least a Hebrew Wikipedia article on it so it can be evaluated? BTW these discussions should probably be on the talk page of the Jews for Jesus article or a reply to items on your own talk page. Erp (talk) 11:52, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for explaining, and to be clear, marking it as minor wasn't an attempt to slip anything past anyone; I'm still new to editing here and didn't realize "minor" carries that connotation or that there's a lower bar for reverting edits tagged that way. I'll make sure not to do that going forward.
- This is just addressing that point for now. I'll follow up separately on the sourcing question. Toras-chochom123 (talk) 12:18, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
- Just letting you know I've opened a discussion on the Café Basimta section, with the proposed wording and sourcing, on the Jews for Jesus talk page. I figured that's the better place to continue per your suggestion. Toras-chochom123 (talk) 12:33, 18 August 2026 (UTC)
