Your submission at Articles for creation: Fiddlebert (February 28)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Pokelego999 was:
This guy is pretty silly, but unfortunately fails WP:SUSTAINED and lacks info on why this hoax character is important. You could potentially include some of this somewhere in Pikmin 4? Not all of it obviously per WP:DUE, but some mention of Fiddlebert may not be remiss given the coverage.

The comment the reviewer left was:
The subject matter could be borderline notable, but for a very narrowly described meme, I'm inclined to say that the sourcing unfortunately really doesn't support notability at the current moment. As the citations show, the content is substantially based off of two short WP:RS articles, which is concerning when those sources alone are being used to directly substantiate in the body that the meme had any significance beyond Reddit. All remaining articles are fundamentally about the same thing, being WP:ONEEVENT. Some tone issues with phrases like it being "an enduring symbol of creativity and humor"

The comment the reviewer left was:
Sorry mate, but since the last reject all that's been done that's relevant to notability is to add prose that it received coverage in major articles in outlets and adding one low-quality citation (see WP:KNOWYOURMEME). The fact is that there is only really two encyclopedic facts to this article: that it was a non-existent character used by fans as a meme, and that briefly appeared in an event. I note now that the coverage for that event barely mentions this. As a thing that doesn't really even exist and is a short-lived creation of fandom, I think this really isn't something that is suitable for Wikipedia under current sourcing.

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
