Archiving talk page notice
Hello. It appears your talk page is becoming quite lengthy and is in need of archiving. According to Wikipedia's user talk page guidelines: "Large talk pages are difficult to read and load slowly over slow connections. As a rule of thumb, archive closed discussions when a talk page exceeds 75 kB or has multiple resolved or stale discussions." – this talk page is 212.8 kB. See Help:Archiving a talk page for instructions on how to manually archive your talk page, or to arrange for automatic archiving using a bot. WikiCup 2026 May newsletter
The second round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 28 April. As a reminder for contestants who just joined or are unaware of recent changes to our round-points system, good article nomination reviews now receive 10 points, an increase from 5 points in the previous year, as per a consensus at WT:CUP. Peer reviews, which continue to be worth 5 points, are now listed in the same section as featured article candidate reviews, rather than with good article reviews. Everyone who competed in round 2 will advance to round 3 unless they have withdrawn or been banned. No other changes to the round-point system have been made for this year.
Round 2 was competitive. Three contestants scored more than 1,000 round points; nine scored over 500; and fourteen scored over 300. The top seven contestants had at least one featured article (two of them with two apiece). The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:
MCE89 (submissions) with 1,333 points, mainly from good and featured articles about Australian people and geography
Generalissima (submissions) with 1,169 points, mainly from good and featured articles related to shipping ethics controversy in fanfiction, waterways, and Gu Yanwu
Bgsu98 (submissions) with 1,149 points, mainly from good articles, featured articles, and featured lists about figure skating, along with many article reviews and two good topics
Olliefant (submissions) with 830 points, mainly from good and featured articles about television shows, episodes and media, along with nearly four dozen good and featured article reviews
Gommeh (submissions) with 827 points, mainly from good and featured articles related to Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail
The full scores for round 2 can be seen here. During this round, contestants have claimed 12 featured articles, 13 featured lists, 2 featured-topic articles, 106 good articles, 22 good-topic articles and more than 40 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 3 In the News articles, and they have conducted over 200 reviews. The tournament points table has been updated.
Remember that any content promoted after 28 April but before the start of Round 3 can be claimed in Round 3. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. If you want to help out with the WikiCup, feel free to review one of the nominations listed on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages. Good luck! If you wish to start or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove your name from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. Fire Emblem Warriors
Hi! Just an update for you on the Fire Emblem front, since it's been....a while. I've just finished doing the major editing work on Fire Emblem Warriors (lead, gameplay, and release + DLC) after doing the Dev and Story a few months ago. I'm not really feeling able to do the reception right now, but it should be very easy. Sorry if I seem to be dumping this on you, but life's been crazy. I think I'll be able to also manage a similar expansion job on Three Hopes. ProtoDrake (talk) 21:55, 9 May 2026 (UTC)
- @ProtoDrake The article looks really good! It's very detailed and high quality, excellent work! Absolutely no worries on the business, and take your time with things. Life is always the highest priority, always feel free to do things for yourself first. If you need any help with reception let me know and I'll do what I can to help.
- On my part, things keep getting in the way of me finishing up Heroes (Similarly very busy, finals are coming up on my end in like, a few days lmao). I hope to finish it soon but it is still in the pipeline for me, even if I haven't worked on it in a hot second. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 22:25, 9 May 2026 (UTC)
- @ProtoDrake I have just finished work on Fire Emblem Heroes. I will likely do some further touch-ups tomorrow, such as copyediting, before nominating it for GA. Feel free to take a look over it in case you feel there's anything that needs adjusting before a nom. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 05:50, 7 June 2026 (UTC)
- @ProtoDrake not sure if you've seen yet, but FEH has been ranked as a Good Article. If you need any help with the Warriors articles in the future, let me know and I'll do what I can. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 02:48, 25 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Pokelego999 please disregard any fail messages from ChristieBot; I didn't see the disclaimer until it was too late. I promise that I'll review the Fire Emblem Warriors article :) - OpalYosutebito 『talk』 『articles I want to eat』 20:01, 8 August 2026 (UTC)

Sorry for the super-late reply, got hooked into doing work on the SaGa series. The FE Warriors article is looking sound, including reception now. I've also started doing expansion to the Three Hopes article -- already did the setting and characters bit, just done gameplay, and I'll be doing the development/release and the lead soon. I'm not feeling that enthused about taking them through GAN, but what I've done should leave them in a prime state for taking forward when you've got the time. --ProtoDrake (talk) 21:31, 22 July 2026 (UTC)
- @ProtoDrake No worries at all, great work at the SaGa articles. I'd be happy to take on the reviews and handle them in your stead if you would like, since I understand the process can be very draining. That said though, I'd feel a bit bad about stealing primary nominator from you, since I didn't really do much work at those articles myself. If you'd want, if you don't feel like going through the process, you could potentially be the main nom while I act as co-nom and handle the reviews in your stead, which would suffice for making sure you don't have to worry as hard about the reviews while still receiving credit for them through things like the GAN bot, though that is up to you. Additionally, if you're busy and would like for me to do any finishing touches on article content, feel free to give me a shout and I can hit them up as soon as I have some time.
- You've done some incredible work on these articles so anything I'm able to do to help you out/get your credit where it's due I am happy to aid with. Once you've done some work on them let me know what next steps you'd prefer and I'll handle them to the best of my ability. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 21:39, 22 July 2026 (UTC)
- Please don't be concerned about "stealin". I've learned to distance myself from things like article ownership or credit. This is a collaborative community after all. And it's not the first time I've done this; Resonance of Fate and a couple of Megami Tensei titles were ones I did the bulk of work on but others took forward because I lost interest or was too busy. I'm not that bothered. And I'm definitely leaving the Reception of Three Hopes entirely to you, as I loathe putting them together. I'll let you know once I've finished my side of work on Three Hopes. --ProtoDrake (talk) 21:43, 22 July 2026 (UTC)
- @ProtoDrake If it is alright with you, then I can definitely handle primary nominator then, though make sure to put yourself down as at least co-nom. I'd feel bad about leaving you out entirely even if I'll be handling the review. That said, do keep me posted on Three Hopes, I'll make sure to hit it up as soon as I can on my end once you've wrapped up the rest of the article. Do you have a source bank you're working with for reception? I can definitely do a search if not but I figured I'd ask since it makes the reception building process go by a bit faster if you've already got it built and researched. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 05:06, 23 July 2026 (UTC)
- Update on Three Hopes. I've completed what edits I wanted to do. Also re the reception (if I understand correctly), all the sources for reviews are already in the article's infobox. It just needs rewriting. --ProtoDrake (talk) 09:09, 23 July 2026 (UTC)
- @ProtoDrake sounds good. I'll let you know once I've done some work there; got a few articles I need to hit up first but I'll try to get to it soon. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 20:00, 23 July 2026 (UTC)
- @ProtoDrake I've given Three Hopes's reception section some work, let me know what you think. Additionally, let me know when you'd want me to nominate the articles, I'm happy to handle it whenever.
- By the by, what should we do regarding Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave? The article on that got created recently and I believe we'd need to include it too if we're nominating additional articles for inclusion in the Good Topic, though the game isn't out for a good few months. I believe we can at worst Peer Review it so it can be included in the initial nomination, and then improve it following its release using the provided grace period, but I would appreciate your input on this. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 04:24, 1 August 2026 (UTC)
- @Pokelego999: I believe for VG GTs, there's a three month grace period after the release of a game, not after the creation of an article on it. That's how it worked with Final Fantasy XVI: article was created literally years before release, but it didn't impact the GT until after the game was out. If we try anything with it now, it'll likely fail. I was thinking about taking on Fortune's Weave myself since it's a traditional one. --ProtoDrake (talk) 08:16, 1 August 2026 (UTC)
- @ProtoDrake I see, I was unaware of that since for some TV GTs I did it was expected to have it done and improved before a nom regardless of when it releases.
- That said, are you saying we can't nominate until after Fortune's Weave? (I assume since it's coming out very soon from now) If so let me know if you need any help when it comes out; I'm happy to provide any help if need be. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 01:52, 2 August 2026 (UTC)
- No, I wasn't saying that, or at least I didn't mean to. While it's more convenient to nominate GT additions in batches, they can be done one at a time. Happens with Final Fantasy now. If the Warriors duology and the rest get nominated as GT additions before Fortune's Weave, that's no issue. Seperate from that Fortune's Weave may need all of those three months grace since the developers are being super cagey with interviews and general information. --ProtoDrake (talk) 09:19, 2 August 2026 (UTC)
- @ProtoDrake I see. If there's precedent with prior passed GT noms, that shouldn't be an issue. For the time being, would you want me to nominate the Warriors duology shortly? That way we can get that batch hopefully done with soon. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 01:33, 3 August 2026 (UTC)
- I think this is an instance of "it's up to you". I'm glad to have helped as much as I have. --ProtoDrake (talk) 08:08, 4 August 2026 (UTC)
- @ProtoDrake I've nominated both, and added a note for clarity for any reviewers just in case. Feel free to tag yourself as co-nom; you won't have to do anything but I'd feel very bad if you didn't credit yourself at all. I'll do my best to handle the reviews when the time comes. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 01:19, 5 August 2026 (UTC)

- @ProtoDrake Fire Emblem Warriors is promoted! The Three Hopes review is currently a WIP, but hopefully should go well in due time. Interesting question I have
Hey, I saw that your Doctor Who WikiProject is doing super well. Congrats on all your recent GAs, your list, and the new newsletter! You deserve it. I was wondering, could I hypothetically reorganize the Marvel WikiProject? Whats the process behind doing something like that ModlordD (talk) 01:54, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
- @ModlordD There isn't really an official "process" per se, but I'd say the big part you should consider is what you want to reorganize. The Doctor Who WikiProject's revamps have largely been because the bulk of us have been largely likeminded regarding how to handle content, and we have set goals we are all continuously working toward. It definitely depends on how open other editors are to these kinds of changes you propose; one person revamping everything without prior approval is a bit less easy in larger Projects, especially if they've had established structures for a while. I'm a bit less certain about who is active in the Marvel task force and how active it is, but I'd likely try starting small with the revamps before moving up to big stuff. It's also good to start clearing out less active areas of the project or revamping older framework/project areas since those will likely be easier to improve and work with overall. I can probably be a bit more specific with more specific goals but I'd say that's some general advice I'd throw out based on what I have done in regards to the Doctor Who project. Friendly question
Hey Pokelego, haven't seen you in a couple months. I haven't really had the time I'd like for the gaming content... anyway, just wanted to drop by and ask if you'd seen the union solidarity petition that's been circulating. You tend to do a better job than I do in terms of sticking to article content, so I just wanted to check if you'd heard about it and maybe hear your thoughts on it. :) Sorry if this is a bother at all. In solidarity, QuicoleJR (talk) 22:25, 8 June 2026 (UTC)
- @QuicoleJR It's good to hear from you! Hope things have been good on your end despite the business. I've seen the petition going around but admittedly haven't had much time to check deets the past few days; I'll take a looksie once I have time to read up on everything, I'm admittedly not as well-versed in wider WikiLore as I probably ought to be. Thanks for the notice on it. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 03:07, 10 June 2026 (UTC)

Keyboards
Please recommend a good keyboard that you like as I'm in the market. You obviously know how to type. Viriditas (talk) 09:46, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Viriditas Lmao. For that message I just used my Mac's basic keyboard, but one I liked a lot when I edited on my old computer with a busted keyboard was this one. (Not sure if they sell anywhere else, this was just the first result I got off Google lmao) Not much of a tech guy so hopefully this helps. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 21:47, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah, I had one of those recently. It broke easily. I just got a new logitech, but it's way too cheap and probably won't last more than a few months. I was looking at a nice mechanical, but I don't really want to spend $400. I saw a low-end one for $150 but it had all sorts of flashing lights that I don't need. I liked that it was completely silent (for the most part), which was nice. I heard an interesting interview recently about chorded keyboards, which allows people to type as fast as 500 wpm. That interests me, but I wonder about the learning curve. Viriditas (talk) 23:04, 27 June 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah Logitech was the other one I've been using. They're very cheap but I haven't had too many problems with them overall, unfortunately I lack a lot of knowledge on more expensive types since I don't tend to shell out for those. Hadn't heard about chorded keyboards until now, they seem interesting but yeah I'd have to second that I'm curious about what that learning curve is like given how unique the system is. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 03:56, 28 June 2026 (UTC)

WikiCup 2026 July newsletter
The third round of the 2026 WikiCup ended on 28 June at 23:59 (UTC). As a reminder, good article nomination reviews now receive 10 points, while peer reviews, which continue to be worth 5 points, are now listed in the same section as featured article candidate reviews, rather than with good article reviews. Everyone who competed in round 3 will advance to round 4 unless they have withdrawn or been banned. No other changes to the round-point system have been made for this year.
Round 3 was competitive. Three contestants scored more than 1,000 round points; eight scored over 500; and thirteen scored over 300. The top three contestants had at least one featured article (two of them with two apiece). The following competitors scored more than 800 round points:
MCE89 (submissions) with 1567 points, mainly from good and featured articles about Australian people and geography, as well as some article reviews
Bgsu98 (submissions) with 1547 points, mainly from good articles, featured articles, featured lists, and a good topic about figure skating, along with 20 article reviews
Reconrabbit (submissions) with 1004 points, mainly from a high-multiplier featured article on European rabbit and several good articles, DYKs, and reviews
A.Cython (submissions) with 1004 points, mainly from good articles about warfare, along with 22 article reviews
Generalissima (submissions) with 859 points, mainly from good and featured articles about rivers and East Asian topics
The full scores for round 3 can be seen here. During this round, contestants have claimed 12 featured articles, 12 featured lists, 7 featured-topic articles, 117 good articles, 74 good-topic articles and more than 30 Did You Know articles. In addition, competitors have worked on 13 In the News articles, and they have conducted nearly 180 reviews. The tournament points table has been updated.
Remember that any content promoted after 28 June but before the start of Round 4 can be claimed in Round 4. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:49, 29 June 2026 (UTC)

GAX-men
Hey, so I am trying to embark on a new project, "User:ModlordD/GAxmen". In order to do this, I am hoping on finding a lot of sources I can use that heavily overlap (like X-Men related books, articles, etc.) to hopefully bring all these articles up to a higher standard.
This will be a super long project, but for sake of my own sanity I won't be working on those articles exclusively; if my interests peaks somewhere else, I work on something else for a bit. I just wanted to ask about the sources and other general advice ModlordD (talk) 02:25, 8 August 2026 (UTC)
- @ModlordD What specifically do you need help with sourcing/advice wise? I can give you some general ideas of where to look for sources, but I am unfamiliar with specific sources you could cite since I haven't done much research at all into the X-Men topic area. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 05:27, 8 August 2026 (UTC)
- Np, I was just wondering if you knew any general X-Men source advice, since in this project I'm doing I imagine a lot of the articles will have source overlap. Sorry for the late response, was on a family trip ModlordD (talk) 18:16, 10 August 2026 (UTC)
- @ModlordD I don't know of any particular, specific sources, since I've done little research on X-Men unfortunately. That said, I would try searching down coverage of the team as a whole. Given the associations of the team and the individual characters and how highly they're linked, I would try finding things discussing the overall team, such as books, article, and analyses. I would also try to find interviews with the creators and/or lead writers at a given point if possible since they'd likely speak on the development process and why particular members were added or not. Not only will this help build up to the main X-Men team article (Which I believe is a Level 5 Vital and not currently improved) but also will help with finding starting points and good bits for the individual members.
- That is my two cents, not sure what further beyond that you could go for given I'm a bit less familiar with what sources exist broadly for the X-Men. Hopefully this helps somewhat. Magneton Considerer: Pokelego999 (Talk) (Contribs) 20:18, 10 August 2026 (UTC)

Good article nominations RfC
Hi Pokelego999,
There is an ongoing Request for Comment (RfC) at Wikipedia:Good article nominations/August 2026 RfC, which you may be interested in because in the past year, you have nominated or reviewed more than one good article nomination. This message has also been sent to all subscribers to the Good Article Gazette. The RfC contains many proposals (33 at the time of writing), which are split into the following categories: nominators, reviewers, reviews, volunteer roles, reviewing initiatives, and others. However, you are more than welcome to add any proposals of your own that you wish to put to the community.
By the end of September, all the proposals will have been closed by an uninvolved editor, either as a consensus for one of the options or with no consensus. At this point, editors will be invited again to develop these proposals into coherent policy and implement them.
Thank you for your contributions to the good articles project, and I look forward to your input! (in solidarity), JacobTheRox(talk|contributions) 16:03, 11 August 2026 (UTC)

You're invited to join the Organized Labour community editing event, a cross-wiki event taking place throughout September 2026!
The campaign brings together Wikimedians interested in improving coverage of organised labour, workers, trade unions, and labour history. If you want to add other language editions or other wiki projects you are strongly encouraged to do so! This event spans geography and languages!
This is a one-time invitation. You're receiving it because you previously signed a petition related to Wiki Workers United (WWU). We hope you'll join us!
