Copy edit tag for List of pseudoscience topics
I see that you added the
tag to this page. Is there some specific issue that you'd like to see addressed? Perhaps you could makes some suggestions on the talk page to point us in the right direction. Thanks. Mr. Swordfish (talk) 14:02, 16 May 2026 (UTC)
- @Mr swordfish hi, I mostly just thought the article needs general proofreading for grammar, because there were plenty of mistakes; but also, different parts of the list were all in different formats, so rewording them for consistency and uniform style would be great. 🍅 fx (talk) 14:30, 16 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from ColoursDrippingOff (14:05, 21 May 2026)
After I make an edit, it shows on my contributions page a positive or negative number for example +83 or -12. What does this mean? --ColoursDrippingOff (talk) 14:05, 21 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @ColoursDrippingOff. That number shows the change in the page size in bytes from your edit. For example, +83 means that you added 83 bytes of text to the page. An English letter is 1 byte, so for English text it's usually roughly the same as the number of letters you added. If the number is shown in bold, it means you added/removed more than 500 bytes. You can also look here for a guide on how to hide those numbers if you don't want to see them. 🍅 fx (talk) 14:46, 21 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from GnarliestTriangles on Wikipedia:Neutral point of view/FAQ (17:58, 25 May 2026)
Hi there! Hope I’m doing this correctly. :)
I’ve been trying to get a better grip on how to do tone revisions and browsed through the NPOV explanation and common objections to it.
One thing I’ve noticed in the suggested tone revisions (and that’s also brought up in the FAQ) is the question of deleting biased content. For a fair few pages with suggested tone revisions, I felt the only real option was to delete near-full sentences (or even paragraphs) rather than attempt to rewrite them, as they seemed to be pretty clearly promotional to me. See for example: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Mimi_Jones&diff=prev&oldid=1355839658 or https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Fred_Gruen&diff=prev&oldid=1355097675
Now I know Wikipedia urges its community members to “be bold” but I keep finding myself shying away from tone revisions as it feels rude/intrusive to delete so much text - even if it seems appropriate.
In short I guess my question is: is it common for tone revisions to feel like they need a fair bit of scrapping? --GnarliestTriangles (talk) 17:58, 25 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @GnarliestTriangles. The changes seem perfectly fine to me, I wouldn't even say you deleted "so much text", I've seen whole article sections being removed because they were entirely promotional. It's not rude to do so at all—the "be bold" rule exists for a reason! The Manual of Style also has a list of words to watch, if you haven't seen it already, it would be pretty useful to check for doing NPOV tone revisions (especially the first section). Removing any sentences that match that list is usually totally fine and only makes the article better (though, of course, apply your judgement). 🍅 fx (talk) 22:05, 25 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from Meagan.Remmes (17:50, 5 June 2026)
Hi, mentor! One of the pages I came across as an editor was for American Medical Response. I noticed the Parent page in its Infobox was Global Medical Response, but it redirects to the same American Medical Response wiki page. How would I go about correcting this and building out a new wiki page for Global Medical Response? Thanks! --Meagan.Remmes (talk) 17:50, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @Meagan.Remmes! For now, you can just remove the link from the company name in the infobox and leave it as plain text.
- To add an article about GMR, you need to edit the redirect page and replace it with the article content. To do that, first click on Global Medical Response. You will see a popup saying "Redirected from Global Medical Response". If you then click on the link in that popup, you will end up on the actual redirect page, which you can edit as you wish.
- However! Wikipedia has very strict inclusion criteria for companies. Before attempting to write a new article, make sure you get very familiar with those rules and check whether the company actually passes them. You must also be familiar with Wikipedia's verifiability policy when writing.
- There's a chance that the company doesn't meet the inclusion criteria. In that case, the best option is to just leave it as a redirect and remove the link from the infobox of the AMR page. 🍅 fx (talk) 18:08, 5 June 2026 (UTC)
Question from Clint O'Shea (14:49, 9 June 2026)
can i submit a review request for an artical i wrote on my sandbox --Clint O'Shea (talk) 14:49, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
- Hi @Clint O'Shea. There is already an article about the topic on Wikipedia: Russo-Ukrainian war. You can't submit a new article about a topic that already exists.
- Since that is a heated political topic, you're only allowed to edit that article directly once you get extended confirmed rights by having some contributing experience. However, if you have some changes you want to make to that article, you can propose them via the Edit request wizard. 🍅 fx (talk) 15:07, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
- i wrote a whole brand new artical, again i have no clue where the subbmit button is Clint O'Shea (talk) 15:41, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Clint O'Shea I moved your page to Draft:Candidatus Desulforudis audaxviator Subterranean Lineage B and added a submit button. However, please note that using AI to generate any text is strictly forbidden, so your article will most likely be rejected for being AI generated and having almost no citations (In fact, being AI generated is technically a valid reason to just delete your article directly, although I won't do that)
- I recommend you contribute to existing articles for a while before trying to write your own, to get some experience first. 🍅 fx (talk) 15:46, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
- its not ai, i write on google docs then paste it on the wiki becuse i dont like the layout of the wiki it feels to old Clint O'Shea (talk) 15:49, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Clint O'Shea I didn't call it AI because of the formatting, but because the references are completely made up, as well as some of the article titles in the "See also" section. 🍅 fx (talk) 15:51, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Clint O'Shea the new references you just added are still all made up and don't exist. Please stop trying to use AI to generate an article. 🍅 fx (talk) 16:03, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
- im not, im using info i randomly find on the web Clint O'Shea (talk) 16:42, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
- @Clint O'Shea then you need to cite that info as your source. The sources you currently have are mostly titles of made up articles that don't exist. 🍅 fx (talk) 21:43, 9 June 2026 (UTC)
