Urgent

Hello, Gvihar,

Your user talk page archiving tool is archiving messages too soon. I left several messages here a few hours ago and they have already been archived even though I asked them not to be archived until you answered the questions they contained. Please reset the bot to allow for several days or several weeks before messages are archived. It's disruptive right now. If this isn't adjusted, I'll just start "unarchiving" messages here. Liz Read! Talk! 07:12, 4 August 2025 (UTC)

Thank you for informing me. The archive bot setting is incorrect I will correct it today itself. Gvihar📝 07:28, 4 August 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for your message. I would like to clarify that I did not use AI or any LLM to create the content in question. Yes, I did send a welcome message that included some parts related to Wikipedia policies, and it may have looked similar to a standard template, but it was written manually by me to help guide the new user. It was not AI-generated, nor was it copied from any AI system.
I apologize if there was any confusion caused by the style or structure of my message. My intention was only to assist new users by pointing them toward helpful Wikipedia policies not to mislead or violate any guidelines. I appreciate your understanding and will be more mindful in the future. Gvihar📝 07:38, 4 August 2025 (UTC)
There was a welcome message earlier that included guidance and policies… I had added a part of it to help guide others.
Thank you I will not use such messages in the future.
If I make any other mistakes, please guide me. Thank you. Gvihar📝 07:41, 4 August 2025 (UTC)

Blocked as a sockpuppet

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts as a sockpuppet of User:GadhesariyaVihar per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/GadhesariyaVihar. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you believe that there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Izno (talk) 19:49, 4 August 2025 (UTC)
Can you tell me for what reason my account has been blocked? Gvihar📝 19:57, 4 August 2025 (UTC)
What wrong did I do by sending this link? Did I really make any mistake? Gvihar📝 19:58, 4 August 2025 (UTC)
I sincerely apologize to you. I don't know when that account was blocked. I can use the name... Please note that I have not done anything wrong or sent any spam. Kindly unblock my account. It is very important to me. Gvihar📝 20:00, 4 August 2025 (UTC)
I neither know the email nor the password of that account. It is linked only to my mobile number and email… Kindly, it’s important… I use only one account. Gvihar📝 20:02, 4 August 2025 (UTC)

Request reason:

Dear administrators, I respectfully request reconsideration of the block on my account. I understand the concern regarding multiple accounts, but I want to clarify that I am only using a single account. I do not knowingly operate or control any other accounts, and I have not violated Wikipedia’s sockpuppet policy intentionally. I sincerely apologize if there was any confusion or misunderstanding. I am committed to editing in good faith and will follow all Wikipedia policies moving forward. Kindly consider unblocking my account. Thank you. Gvihar📝 20:04, 4 August 2025 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Nonsense. I was close to blocking DE before the Sock block came. in. Gvihar, please do not lie. That is not a route to being unblocked. Star Mississippi 01:07, 5 August 2025 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Respected administrators, I kindly request that you please review my situation clearly. I was blocked for allegedly using previously created accounts. I believe this may be related to an IP that was detected, but that IP might be from a time when I was new to Wikipedia. At that time, I did not know anything about Wikipedia’s policies, nor was I aware that creating multiple accounts was against the rules.
I admit that Wikipedia’s policies are important, but I was still learning how the platform worked and did not understand these rules back then. Now, I fully understand Wikipedia's guidelines and follow them sincerely. I am contributing honestly and learning every day.
Please consider the mistakes I made in the past as due to lack of understanding as a new user. I never intended to break rules or mislead anyone. I respectfully request that you give me another chance and unblock my account. Thank you. Gvihar📝 20:22, 4 August 2025 (UTC)

Gvihar📝 20:04, 4 August 2025 (UTC)

It feels like I’m being treated unfairly for something old… I haven’t violated any rules from this account. I even apologized to you all, but since the committee/admin has the power, this is how I’m being treated… Will I ever be able to work on Wikipedia again? Has my PC’s IP also been banned? I admit that I didn’t open all the pages… This is a one-sided decision… Gvihar📝 03:48, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
If you review Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/GadhesariyaVihar it's easy to see that all of the accounts are a variation of your name. And according to Wikidata, there are even more accounts associated with this IP account/address. Whether it was you or someone using your computers is irrelevant to Wikipedia. It's best in these situations to be forthcoming and be honest about your past history on this platform. Liz Read! Talk! 03:50, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
If that was the case, you could have warned me... I haven’t added anything wrong from this account — I’ve made genuine contributions. It seems like there’s an attempt to stop me under the name of Wikipedia policy. I respect experienced editors and contributors, but that doesn’t mean you block me just because of older accounts or actions.
What does that have to do with this current account? I had been working sincerely for the past 70 days from this account, and I had already informed you clearly about the older accounts — back then I was new and unaware. I hadn’t created multiple accounts intentionally.
Accounts like Ravi Gadhesariya and Riyagadhesariya belonged to my family members, and we used the same PC. Even if those accounts had any violations — does that mean I will never be allowed to work on Wikipedia again from this PC?
Please consider my words and try to understand my situation. Gvihar📝 03:57, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
All those accounts belong to my family we are 27 members in total. Out of all those, only one account is mine. But I don’t remember the email ID linked to it because it was an old account. I also don’t remember when it was created. Gvihar📝 04:01, 5 August 2025 (UTC)

Request reason:

Dear administrators, I respectfully request that you reconsider the block on my account.

I truly respect and follow Wikipedia’s policies now, and I am committed to continuing on the right path. Such a situation will never happen again.
Honestly, I didn’t know that so many accounts existed — but not all of them were mine. I had only one account, which I used a long time ago, and I no longer remember its email or login details. All those accounts likely appeared linked because we are a large family — 27 members in total — and some of us may have used the same internet connection or device in the past. Out of all the accounts listed, only one was mine.
Please understand that I have not done anything wrong with this current account. Back then, I was completely unaware of Wikipedia's policies. But now, I have learned, and I will never repeat any such mistake. I will also ensure that no one else creates or uses an account from my PC.
I sincerely apologize for any confusion caused. I have been editing genuinely and in good faith. You can review my contributions here: https://xtools.wmcloud.org/topedits/en.wikipedia.org/Gvihar/
I kindly request you to please review my case. I admit my old mistake, and I assure you that I now fully understand and respect Wikipedia’s guidelines. I only wish to contribute positively. Thank you. Gvihar📝 04:11, 5 August 2025 (UTC)

Vihar, I can easily believe that these other accounts were used by your family members. However, you and your family members have an extensive, multi-year history of self-promotion on Wikipedia at Draft:Vihar Exports. I can also easily believe that your edits on this account were done in good faith. However, they were extremely disruptive. Like Star Mississippi, I'm surprised that what you were ultimately blocked for was sockpuppetry and not WP:DE. I strongly suggest that you leave Wikipedia alone for now and take the standard offer. asilvering (talk) 04:51, 7 August 2025 (UTC)

Hello, Gvihar,
This is not some crazy new policy that a random administrator created just to punish you. It's clearly outlined in Wikipedia:Sockpuppetry which you should read if you want more information on what's allowable with multiple accounts. Every day, sockpuppet accounts are caught and blocked, it happens quite frequently, unfortunately. Read the information in your blocking notice and, above all, read Guide to appealing blocks for information on how to appeal this block. Just calm down and read over all of the policy links that have been recommended to you before filing another unblock appeal. Liz Read! Talk! 05:09, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
Thank you, Liz, for your response.
I understand now that the sockpuppet policy is not something new or personal, but a long-standing guideline meant to protect Wikipedia. I admit I did not read or fully understand these policies in the past, and that was my mistake. I truly regret that.
I want to clarify that I never intended to misuse Wikipedia, and I am committed to following all policies from now on. I have already gone through the pages you mentioned, including the Sockpuppetry policy and the Guide to appealing blocks, and I will continue learning before submitting anything further.
I appreciate your time and your explanation. Thank you for guiding me in the right direction. Gvihar📝 05:50, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
I would like to clarify something respectfully. Yes, I acknowledge that User:GadhesariyaVihar was my old account. However, the email linked to that account no longer exists, and I have lost access to it. That account was created a long time ago, back when I had limited understanding of Wikipedia’s policies.
As for the other accounts listed, those belong to other family members. We are a large family, and some of them may have used Wikipedia on the same internet connection or computer. I do not control or use those accounts.
I apologize for any confusion caused. I am being honest and transparent here. I truly want to contribute to Wikipedia the right way and I fully respect the rules now. Thank you for your understanding. Gvihar📝 06:04, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
Dear administrators,
I would like to respectfully clarify that I have no connection whatsoever with User:Johnfleet57 or any related accounts. I do not know who they are, and I have never interacted with or coordinated with them on WikiData or any other Wikimedia project.
If there is a technical link via IP or other pattern, it may be purely coincidental or due to shared infrastructure (e.g., public internet, VPN, or proxy). I sincerely request a fair review of this assumption.
I am committed to following Wikipedia’s and WikiData’s policies in full. I respectfully ask that my current account and intentions be evaluated separately, and not grouped based on any technical match to other accounts I do not control.
Thank you for your time and consideration -This is not my account, nor do I use it… truly. Gvihar📝 09:22, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
Clarification Regarding User:Johnfleet57
Dear Liz,
I respectfully wish to clarify that I am not User:Johnfleet57, and I have never used or operated that account. I understand that it was mentioned in connection with my name, but I assure you this is completely incorrect.
Thank you again for your time and guidance.
I fully acknowledge that User:GadhesariyaVihar was my old account. However, I no longer have access to the email linked to that account, and I stopped using it long ago when I had very limited understanding of Wikipedia’s policies.
As for the other usernames mentioned in the case — such as User:Drpriyagadhesariya, User:Wikimartinaa, and User:RaviGadhesariyasurva — those were created and used by my family members. We are a large family (27 members total), and at times we may have used the same internet connection or device, which might have created a technical appearance of connection.
I want to be completely honest and transparent: I did not intend to deceive or violate Wikipedia's trust. If any confusion occurred due to shared usage or mistaken account activity, I sincerely apologize.
I have read and now understand all relevant Wikipedia policies, including WP:SOCK, and I’m committed to following all rules from now on. I genuinely wish to contribute positively, respectfully, and in good faith.
Thank you for your understanding,
Gvihar Gvihar📝 09:34, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
I have told you everything honestly. I was new and unaware of the policies at that time. I never did anything intentionally wrong.
Please give me a chance. I assure you that whatever happened knowingly or unknowingly will not happen again. I will fully follow Wikipedia’s policies. Gvihar📝 07:22, 6 August 2025 (UTC)

First, avoid editing while logged out, especially given that you're already suspected of socking. See WP:LOUTSOCK. Second, I strongly encourage you to be patient. There are WP:NODEADLINES, administrators have their own lives and may be busy, and there is a backlog of other requests, the oldest of which was posted July 5. A day or even a week are normal wait times. EducatedRedneck (talk) 19:02, 6 August 2025 (UTC)

@Gvihar stop editing logged out. You're being disruptive and this is not a path to being unblocked, simply losing access to edit your Talk as well. Please follow asilvering's sound advice about the Standard Offer. Star Mississippi 13:17, 7 August 2025 (UTC)
@Star Mississippi I want to raise a tone concern. *"You are speaking in a threatening manner — does Wikipedia not allow me to present my point? It feels to me like you are deliberately targeting me… When I try to explain, you seem to be giving threats. Are you not following Wikipedia’s policies yourself?"*
If I misunderstood your intent, apologies. To resolve this constructively, could you please link the specific diffs and the policy sections you believe apply? I’ll review and adjust accordingly. I’m aiming to follow WP:CIVIL, WP:NPA, WP:TPG, and WP:DR. — 103.164.196.85 (talk) 17:25, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
  • I see that you have directed several messages to me but any admin can respond here to your inquiries and advice on what to do next. Please listen to their advice, don't create any more new accounts, work on other WikiMedia projects and come back in 6 months to apply for the Standard Offer. That's your best bet. Liz Read! Talk! 06:50, 9 August 2025 (UTC)
Some people in my account used abusive or nonsensical words, and some admins seemed to consider themselves superior, showing policies as a form of dominance. This is not fair — it should not be called judgment; it is called misuse of power.
Policies are made for justice and improvement, not for intimidation. Even correct articles were removed — is that right? I don’t think so.
I respect the admin role and acknowledge that you are in a superior position… we expect fairness from you. Everyone makes mistakes — humans learn from mistakes. 103.164.196.85 (talk) 17:15, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
Please stop editing logged out. If you wish to appeal you will have to do so from your account. Every time you edit here logged out you make it more and more unlikely an appeal will be accepted. CoconutOctopus talk 17:45, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
I will note that they are globally locked for crosswiki spamming, so they cannot contribute to any Wikimedia projects or request an unblock here until that is successfully appealed. This is why they are logged out to comment here (although they shouldn't be). REAL_MOUSE_IRL talk 17:43, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

Thank you. From now on, I will not write any more replies. My account has been blocked, so I am having to write this…
I am satisfied with the proper and respectful way @Liz listened to me and gave her answers — I agree with her and can still say she is worthy of the admin role.
However, the behaviour and words written by @Star Mississippi were threatening… that is not appropriate and gives the impression that they consider themselves superior. This is not leadership.
Thank you — Wikipedia has taught me a lot. It feels like I am not suitable for Wikipedia… Thank you, I have learned many things from all of you.
Today, I bid my final farewell and put an end to this issue… happy . ending 2409:40C2:2004:7ED:8000:0:0:0 (talk) 18:08, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

Official confirmation of Nick Johnson replacing Brent Hinds

Hello! I noticed that my edit was undone, and instead of going back and forth on it, I thought I'd send a quick message.

As far as I can see, Johnson has only joined Mastodon in a touring capacity, at least that's all that's been officially announced. To say that he was officially replaced Hinds as a full member of the band is not true, at least maybe not yet.

Unless you have a citation that shows otherwise, I believe that that line should be removed from the page.

thanks! Smorrier (talk) 14:46, 10 August 2025 (UTC)
