Request reason:

I have been made aware of the account Segatari. It appears that we both wanted to write an article about ETC very recently. I know now that this is not about ISPs. My mistake of accidentally publishing an unfinished page this morning (EST) probably doesn't help my case either. However, I can say with full integrity that I have no connection to the account Segatari. I did not realize a draft for an article like this had existed because I am new to the syntax of this website. I do not believe this block is fair to me, and especially Segatari. I can't speak for them, but I can say that I do not own any alternate accounts, nor do I not partake in illegitimate editing. Although, from the looks of Segatari's contribution page, it does not seem that he is doing anything nefarious either.
I understand that this block was placed to prevent the publication of promotional language on Wikipedia. I do NOT have any connection to the company ETC. I will admit that my article sounds somewhat journalistic and promotional, rather than encyclopedic, but this is because I had not finished it. I intended to provide more sources and get more information on this company. I do not have any connection to this company because of the simple fact that I am a 16-year-old student in a rural town in Vermont. This block particularly upsets me because I am in the process of writing a detailed article on another subject.
I would love to contribute to Wikipedia more because I believe in the freedom of knowledge. I would greatly appreciate an unblock on this ban. I will read the manual of style and the article policies before I continue. I will also research and identify any existing articles before making my own to reduce disruption. If you have any questions for me, please feel free to ask. Hugtrain (talk) 17:51, 8 January 2024 (UTC)

Accept reason:

Based on the CU evidence, I've unblocked you. I read your explanation about about promotion, and I'll accept it on good faith. Bbb23 (talk) 22:12, 8 January 2024 (UTC)

The block was not based on your IPs, about which I know nothing.--Bbb23 (talk) 17:54, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
  • Checkuser note: Hugtrain is very  Unlikely to Segatari; if there was no time gap between contributions, I'd call them entirely Red X Unrelated. --Blablubbs (talk) 20:03, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
  • Hugtrain, what concerns me at this point is how much promotion you've engaged in. Not only the article about the company, but also Draft:Source Four, a brand name of the company. I know you say you have no connection to the company, but, given your actions, it is hard to believe.--Bbb23 (talk) 21:49, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
Hi again. I can totally understand why you see this. Reading the article, it feels more like something for a brochure or datasheet than an encyclopedia, but that's why it's still a draft: there's still time to revise it and make it more NPOV. I want to write an article about this fixture because it's a very common light in theaters all over the world. I plan to conduct some thorough research about it.
My explaination is: I was reading the ERS page and noticed the red links to the Source Four. I read on Wikipedia: Red link that "Create red links whenever a non-existent article with more information would help a reader understand the content of the article in which the red link will appear," so, after checking for an existing page, I assumed that that's what the writer of the ERS article was intending. I decided to start the draft because, as I said, it's a very common fixture. While writing the draft, I also noticed there was no ETC page. This was strange to me because they are also pretty well-known in the theater industry. I looked at the live articles (not drafts which is why I missed the rejected draft) and came across the page for Clay Paky, another reputable company. I decided in my hyperfixation to start a page for ETC in the same manner, talking about their facts, history, and awards. Then later in the day my account is blocked for sock-puppeting. I will admit that there is a suspicious gap in my account that the other's (Segatari's) fills, but I do not own this account. I also think that they are in Germany as the original article is in German, and I am in America. Do you have any other information to suspect me of sock-puppeting? If so, I'd be happy to answer any questions.Hugtrain (talk) 22:07, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
