The or the in band names

Hi Ibrohard. I noticed that you changed the band names in Jangle pop from "the Byrds" to "The Byrds". This is quite understandable, and though I was one of those who voted for the lower case "the" in the RfC on this matter many years ago, I think it would be better if we did use a capital "The". However, per MOS:THEBAND, the house style on Wikipedia is to use a lower case "the". There's nothing for you to do, as I have fixed the names. But it's something worth knowing, so when you see an article like The Beatles you are aware that the lower case "the Beatles" is not a mistake! Any questions, you can ask me on my talkpage any time. Regards, SilkTork (talk) 15:50, 4 April 2022 (UTC)

Hello SilkTork. I really appreciate your message! I actually did not know this, and I had just assumed it was a typo. My bad. Ibrohard (talk) 17:45, 8 April 2022 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to living or recently deceased subjects of biographical content on Wikipedia articles, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

In addition to the above, accusing subjects of making "defamatory statements" could be construed as a veiled legal threat. —Sangdeboeuf (talk) 21:38, 20 December 2025 (UTC)
How is it a legal threat. I'm not ethan klein, I'm not gonna sue her. Ibrohard (talk) 21:51, 20 December 2025 (UTC)
