ようこそ
  • You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
  • Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
  • Play in your user area. For example, create User:Jacob.g.scott/test.
  • Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup.
  • When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.

Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

There's lots of information below. Once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!

Your submission at Articles for creation

Hi Jacob.g.scott,

You recently made a submission to Articles for Creation

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Peter Scott (author). Thanks! It will be reviewed by a volunteer soon.

However... it doesn't seem to have correctly formatted references.

All articles on Wikipedia should have inline, numbered references after facts, showing the 'reliable source' (newspaper, book, etc.) where the information can be checked, so that all information is verifiable.

If you put a reference like this:

Chzz is 98 years old.<ref> "The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref>

He likes tea.<ref> [http://www.nicecupofteaandasitdown.com Tea website] </ref>

...then the reference will automatically be displayed as a small number[1], and the number will link to the details, wherever there is a {{reflist}} there should be one of those in a section titled == References ==.

You can see that example in action on this page: User:Chzz/demo/simpleref.

Your submission will be reviewed as soon as possible, and we'll try to help with it, but it would help us a lot if you could add inline references.

If you need any other kind of help, just put {{helpme}} at the end of this page, followed by a question. Best,  Chzz    16:50, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

July 2024

Information icon Hello, Jacob.g.scott. We welcome your contributions, but it appears as if your primary purpose on Wikipedia is to add citations to sources you may be affiliated with.

Editing in this way is a violation of the policy against using Wikipedia for promotion and is a form of conflict of interest. The editing community considers excessive self-citing to be a form of spamming on Wikipedia (WP:REFSPAM); the edits will be reviewed and the citations removed where it was not appropriate to add them.

If you wish to continue contributing, please first consider citing other reliable secondary sources such as review articles that were written by other researchers in your field and that are already highly cited in the literature. If you wish to cite sources for which you may have a conflict of interest, please start a new section on the article's talk page and add {{Edit COI}} to ask a volunteer to review whether or not the citation should be added.

Managing a conflict of interest

Information icon Hello, Jacob.g.scott. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. As you were advised by User:MrOllie in July 2024, your recent edits are focused on citing your own research. Please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, and stop using Wikipedia to promote your own work. Thank you. Wikishovel (talk) 13:24, 17 November 2025 (UTC)

Chang et al in Non-small-cell lung cancer

Hi there! You recently added a reference to Chang et al to Non-small-cell lung cancer. The PMID links to a different article, and putting the article name you provided into PubMED gives a different title. Can you please double-check this reference?

Also, if you want to use et al, you can use |display-authors=et al in the citation instead of |first2=et al.

Thanks, and happy editing! Snowman304|talk 02:33, 23 November 2025 (UTC)

think i fixed it? thanks for the check! Jacob.g.scott (talk) 03:12, 23 November 2025 (UTC)
