Subjects of researchers on climate change and similar subjects can't be deleted using PROD, because their research topics are controversial. As a scientist myself, I don't think it's controversial, but it is, because politics is twisted in the United States. Same thing goes with Israel/Palestine. These days, too many people want to use our very processes as an excuse to eliminate the WMF's charitable status. Thank you for understanding. You're welcome. The policy starts with: "Proposed deletion (PROD) is a way to suggest an article or file for uncontroversial deletion." Things that are controversial, like climate change science, Kashmir, Palestine, and religious topics, should go to AfD instead of prod. Bearian (talk) 14:35, 25 July 2026 (UTC)

@JoelleJay, IMO her citation record and award are notable enough that she would probably pass NPROF at AfD. Please examine these carefully in the future, a PROD should only be added if the case appears to be uncontroversial. I deProd'd, with a possible edit conflicting with a deProd by @Bearian. @Ldm1954 I don't know which person you are talking about?? I PRODded a handful of WikiEd-created penguin/antarctic researcher BLPs that didn't have a claim to notability, I don't remember any that had won an award that seemed close to even partially satisfying C2?
