Your submission at Articles for creation: Betty Lee Ongley (September 11)

Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed! Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by MurielMary was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
Thanks for creating this draft. There is a lack of evidence of how her achievements meet the general notability guidelines for a biography on Wikipedia; more evidence is needed. Please read the notability guidelines and review.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.

Hello,
Can you advise if there is another classification for articles like this draft (Betty Lee Ongley) that is more appropriate? I am getting feedback that this person is not "notable" which is a big surprise to the people in the community, but perhaps there is another section for write-ups on persons with accomplishments that Wiki deems "not notable." I am in over my head on this, I think. Also, I see comments that my sources are not independent, but every single one is totally independent of the subject so I do not understand where that view is coming from. I also received a comment about copyrighted work. All work was original. So that was confusing too. Jan Sackley (talk) 21:07, 18 January 2026 (UTC)

The comment the reviewer left was:
Like the previous reviewers, I'm still not convinced this person is notable. Most of the coverage is superficial and some of it non-independent (both of which can be fine but it doesn't help establish notability). Even if she were notable, I would have decline the submission because of its lack of suitable inline citations. To give one example: it did not seem necessary to include a reference for the information on her spouse whose nick name and death date are given. Please consult WP:BLP.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit when they have been resolved.

Hello,
I naively thought that questions and comments that had a reply would be alerted to me via email. Apparently they only show up if I log into Wikipedia which I did today for the first time in a long time since my illness. I see now that this one entry I have been working on for many years, has been deleted. I tried to reinstate it by following the directions, clicking the blue button, but it did not ask which page I wanted restored. The last recollection was that I corrected something minor and requested publishing but no response was received. I am a complete novice at this, a grandmother, who is simply trying to get historical info published on this woman, Betty Lee Clara Ongley, who turns 100 years old next week. Is there another avenue for undeletion if the “blue button” fails? Jan Sackley (talk) 13:13, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
Update: I think I found the path to request undeletion manually.
one thing that was frustrating was an editor saying I copied something, only my words were drafted months before the thing I was supposedly copied, ie they copied from me. Another editor confirmed this.
so as far as I can figure out, the only issue now is “notability”. Jan Sackley (talk) 13:22, 15 January 2026 (UTC)
