Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

It appears you may have used a large language model (LLM), such as ChatGPT, in your edits. While LLMs are powerful, machine-generated text often contains serious flaws. They may introduce bias, errors, plagiarism, libel, or even hoaxes. Specifically asking an LLM to "write a Wikipedia article" can sometimes cause the output to be outright fabrication, complete with fictitious references. Editors must verify all LLM-generated text before using it in an article. Completely LLM-generated articles may be quickly deleted. If you are unsure about your wording, an alternative is to suggest it on the talk page for another volunteer to look at it. If you are creating a new article, you may use the Articles for Creation process to get feedback on your work.

Help me!

Please help me with... My edits to an article pertaining to myself and my band Count Five and the history and legacy and membership of the band were rejected as vandalism and disruptive. The sources you cited in the existing article are not accurate as to the facts they reported. I would like my revisions to be reinstated. My reply to the editor has also been blocked. Please assist. Kenn Ellner (talk) 19:43, 7 February 2026 (UTC)

My edits to an article pertaining to myself and my band... this is a clear sign of a conflict of interest (COI), COI edits are strongly discouraged on Wikipedia. You can see WP:COIEDIT for how to propose changes to articles that you have a COI. Xzkdeng (talk) 20:21, 7 February 2026 (UTC)
I agree that other users calling you edits vandalism is inappropriate, but as you may have noticed, content in articles need a reliable source, personal knowledge is not allowed. Xzkdeng (talk) 20:38, 7 February 2026 (UTC)

I really don't understand why myself a source about myself and my band isn't considered a reliable source especially when I'm making factual corrections. What peer review can possibly validate what both myself and band mates could confirm versus cited sources that have no direct information but at best is hearsay if not pure fiction. Is it possible for you to review the edit I submitted as I would like to understand what it is that WP believes can't be modified. Kenn Ellner (talk) 20:54, 7 February 2026 (UTC)

It is one of the pillars is articles are from a neutral point of view. Unfortunately, the subjects of articles cannot be assumed to be neutral. We have the edit requests process you can use to request changes. These requests are reviewed by uninvolved editors but they will be looking for a reliable secondary source to support the requested changes. Your recollections are considered a primary source and despite the fact that you were there and all, surprisingly, we don't consider this a reliable source of information. ~Kvng (talk) 15:16, 8 February 2026 (UTC)
