Hi Kharal1, I have recently seen you vandalising the Kharal page. Further vandalism / disruption will lead to you being reported to the Admins. Please provide any sources / refrences for any changes you want. Thank you. Jatwadia (talk) 23:27, 11 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Jatwadia, I've added sources in relation the changes made. Just for your information, Kharals are present and predominant in the Derajat region, specifically Dera Ghazi Khan (e.g. the Khar family). Kharal1 (talk) 15:25, 12 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Jatwadia, here is my source for the language component to the infographic.

- Yes the source is fine and I will add derajat region. Secondly yes they primarily speak Jatki but they are found throughout Punjab and Jatki (Shahpuri/Jhangvi/dhanni) comes under Punjabi so Punjabi is more appropriate. Lastly you removed "Punjabi Jat Muslim" from the intro multiple times without any explanation while it is sourced as well and very clear in the origin sub section. Please refrain from making such edits.Thank you. Jatwadia (talk) 12:47, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hello @Jatwadia, what do you think if we just keep the mention of that in the infographic only instead? Thanks. Kharal1 (talk) 23:54, 13 July 2025 (UTC)
- Please elaborate what kind of mention ?? Jatwadia (talk) 09:55, 14 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Jatwadia. Mention Punjabi Jat only in the infographic, not the description. Kharal1 (talk) 16:01, 14 July 2025 (UTC)
- The 2-3 line has to include them punjabi and Jat. What do you mean its a "local" tribe ?? That doesnt even make sense. Additionally you were removing "panjabi jat muslim" from the intro while it was sourced and the jat bit is obvious from the origin sub section. Jatwadia (talk) 22:34, 14 July 2025 (UTC)
- @Jatwadia, yep that is fine then. Kharal1 (talk) 03:34, 15 July 2025 (UTC)

- Also @Jatwadia, with regards to the Panjabi an Jatki zabaan, please refer below:
- 11. Different from Punjabi.—The Western Punjabi or -Jatki language is quite a different language from that spoken in the Eastern Punjab. Dr. H. Martin Clark, who corrected the proofs of Bh&i M&ya Singh's Dictionary, a complete master of the language, found only about two words on a page of this dictionary with which he was familiar, in looking over some of my proofs.

- Ok again that makes sense. I think you are just trying to be precise. How about adding "Punjabi (Lahnda)" to te infobox since kharals are found outside of Jatki speaking areas as well and generally western punjabi (Lahnda) areas. Jatwadia (talk) 10:00, 14 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hey @Jatwadia. I do not believe Kharals are found outside o the Jatki regions, and as a Kharal myself, Jatki is what we speak. Kharal1 (talk) 16:03, 14 July 2025 (UTC)
- Even then what you are referring to as "Jatki" is called "Lahnda" now both meaning Western Punjabi as per your own source. So Jatki and Lahnda are synonymous, additionally we dint even have a Jatki wikipage and lahnda is wikdely known as western punjabi so i do conclude "Western Punjabi" in the infobox is the right way. Introduction to contentious topics
You have recently edited a page related to the region of South Asia (India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal), broadly construed, including but not limited to history, politics, ethnicity, and social groups, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days in order to make edits related to two subtopics: (1) Indian military history, or (2) social groups, explicitly including caste associations and political parties related to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
