Shapley-Shubik index
Dear LaffyTaffer, Hello! If I'm reading the change log correctly, it looks like you removed the UN Security Council example from the Shapley-Shubik Index page last September. I'm a teacher and I think it is a cool example, and I'm just curious why you removed it in favor of the supermajority example? Faan Tone Liu ~2026-10093-92 (talk) 16:36, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hi there, I have no familiarity with Shapley–Shubik power index. If I remember correctly, a user had completely rewritten the article and then pasted that rewrite into the middle of the already existing article without removing the old text (or something along those lines), my edit was just trying to clean up after that user doing the same thing to a few different articles. ᴸᵃᶠᶠʸTaffer💬(they/she) 20:00, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
Topic at Teahouse you might give some insight into
Hey, I've written a question at the Teahouse about Talk:Jaiden Animations, and you've been active on that page for a bit so I'd like your input! Realtent (talk) 19:50, 3 March 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks! For my future reference, the topic is WP:TH#Advice to clear/archive discussions on Talk Page ᴸᵃᶠᶠʸTaffer💬(they/she) 20:15, 3 March 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for the pointer!
- While I'm here, I was intrigued about one of the things on your user page (and sorry if this is an easily lookup-able thing), but how does one "[monitor] for edits with 'mass pronoun change' or 'possible vandalism'"? I'm not the greatest writer but I hope to contribute to Wikipedia in some other way, and I'm thinking doing stuff similar to what you're doing might be a good path. Realtent (talk) 20:26, 3 March 2026 (UTC)
- What I'm referring to there is the page Special:RecentChanges. I have a number of filters saved there to display edits that automatically recieve tags such as "Mass Pronoun Change" or "Possible Vandalism" (among many others). When such an edit shows up on my RC filters, I take a look to see if the edit needs to be reverted or if it's a good edit and I can help improve the article further. I'm not gonna do a great job explaining RC, but theres Help:Recent Changes if you want to read further. ᴸᵃᶠᶠʸTaffer💬(they/she) 20:44, 3 March 2026 (UTC)
- If you're interested in counter vandalism though, I'd like to direct you towards WP:CVU. By the time I learned about it, I was already quite comfortable with fighting vandalism myself, but from everything I've seen secondhand, it seems like quite a good program. ᴸᵃᶠᶠʸTaffer💬(they/she) 20:49, 3 March 2026 (UTC)
- No, your explanation is fine! This does seem like an area I'd like to look into, so I'm wondering what other tags/filters you use and find effective? I'll look into the CVU in the meantime. Thanks for the info! Realtent (talk) 20:52, 3 March 2026 (UTC)
- This is the main filter I use when I'm doing RC patrol, it's a lot but it filters things down about as far as I feel I'm able to while still showing me most of the potential problems I feel equipped to tackle.
- The real pain point I found with filtering edits is figuring out how to avoid edits that someone else already reverted. For reasons likely too technical for me to understand, you're not allowed to mix tag inclusions/exclusions to do something like
has (#Possible vandalism or #Mass pronoun change) and not #Reverted- My personal solution is to instead highlight reverted edits in red by doing Tags>Highlight results
- I also have a few different filters, including one that only shows #Mass pronoun changes edits (which is my default view for RC), one specifically for tags related to WP:BLP, and one that instead monitors using the quality and intent filters to pull up edits that are "Very likely to have problems" (which you fortunately can exclude #Reverted edits from) ᴸᵃᶠᶠʸTaffer💬(they/she) 21:09, 3 March 2026 (UTC)

Name update for Charis F. Johnson
I am new to Wikipedia editing and was not sure how to go about this. The subject's full name is Charis Fay Johnson Horwitt. Horwitt is the last name of her ex-husband, which she chose to use instead of Johnson after the scandal. She also dropped her first name and has been going by Fay Horwitt for two decades. In her rebranded identity, she is quite active and identifiable in the nonprofit sector as well as on the Internet. ~2026-14445-76 (talk) 13:29, 7 March 2026 (UTC)
- Hi, I'm assuming you haven't seen the message on your talk page, so for ease I will repost it here. Please read the below message carefully.
Hello, I'm LaffyTaffer. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Charis Johnson, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! LaffierTaffer (talk) 01:55, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
Wish you well
Saw that you were having a rough time and I hope you're feeling better, whenever you see this. If you need anything done but you're not feeling up to it then I can give it my best shot, it's the least I can do. Realtent (talk) 01:30, 9 March 2026 (UTC)
- Heya, much appreciated :) should be feeling alright at this point. ᴸᵃᶠᶠʸTaffer💬(they/she) 13:34, 9 March 2026 (UTC)
