Promotional edits

Please be a bit more careful about declaring edits promotional when it turns on the meaning of a single word - especially when the primary meaning, per https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/penultimate, is the one intended. SarekOfVulcan (talk) 17:23, 4 November 2025 (UTC)

Nomination for discussion of Template:Uw-name1

Template:Uw-name1 has been nominated for discussion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the entry on the Templates for discussion page. Mathglot (talk) 23:08, 3 January 2026 (UTC)

Hi, Livid. I just wanted to add a personal note to soften the dry template. The message above is a process required notice placed on my behalf by semi-automated procedure in response to the Tfd. I just wanted to say Welcome to Wikipedia, and I think it's great that you are starting to get into template writing, and looking at the User warning series, and how to improve it. Regardless what happens with this nomination, feel free to contact me anytime if you want help or advice with templates (or anything else; I've been around for ages and know the ropes here). And, happy New Year! Mathglot (talk) 23:47, 3 January 2026 (UTC)

AI source verification

Hi! I see that you've installed User:Polygnotus/Scripts/AI Source Verification.js. User:Polygnotus and I have decided to move it to my user space (User:Alaexis/AI Source Verification) and the tool has been improved in various ways, for instance now you can use a (less powerful) open source model if you don't have API keys.

Would be grateful for any feedback if you've had a chance to use it. Happy New Year! Alaexis¿question? 20:20, 7 January 2026 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi Livid. After reviewing your request, I have temporarily enabled rollback on your account until 2026-02-28. Please keep the following things in mind while using rollback:

  • Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle or Ultraviolet. It just adds a [rollback] button next to a page's latest live revision. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only. Never use rollback to revert good faith edits. For more information about when rollback is appropriate, see Wikipedia:Rollback § When to use rollback.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose or any other inappropriate purpose, the permission will be revoked.
  • Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask!

I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, and feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into trouble or have any questions about appropriate use of rollback. If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin) and Wikipedia:Rollback. Good luck and thanks! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:27, 9 January 2026 (UTC)

January 2026

Hello there, you recently reverted my edit in Gali District, Abkhazia in which I merely listed which languages the native names listed on the infobox were in, which is typical of most infoboxes in settlement articles. You described my edit as 'disruptive', yet I am having trouble seeing as to how exactly this is disruptive. I would really appreciate it if you responded, thank you! Ihavetoentermyusername (talk) 07:04, 10 January 2026 (UTC)

@Ihavetoentermyusername I'm sorry for that, it was a misclick that I didn't notice. I was actually moving the next diff & not reverting your edit. I have restored your revision. Thanks for alerting me about it. codelivid 08:34, 10 January 2026 (UTC)
No worries! Thank you for restoring. Ihavetoentermyusername (talk) 19:26, 10 January 2026 (UTC)

Clarification on reverted edit

Hello Livid, You recently reverted my edit on the Angika article, in which I removed the “Controversy around relationship with Maithili” section in line with WP:NOTADVOCACY and the prior discussion on the Talk page, where I had already explained my concerns. In your edit summary, my edit was described as an “unexplained deletion” which I am unable to understand, as the rationale was already provided on the Talk page.

I kindly request that you revisit the Talk page discussion, particularly the section “Relationship to Maithili?”, and reconsider reverting my edit accordingly. Thank you. Priyadarśin (talk) 07:59, 12 January 2026 (UTC)

Hello, Priyadarśin! In the discussion on the talk page about this, I don't see any consensus that agrees with your reasoning. Please take a look at WP:Consensus for more information about this. Thanks! codelivid 08:13, 12 January 2026 (UTC)

Upcoming expiry of your rollbacker right

Hi, this is an automated reminder as part of Global reminder bot to let you know that your permission "rollbacker" (Rollbackers) will expire on 00:00, 28 February 2026 (UTC). For most rights, you will need to renew at WP:PERM, unless you have been told otherwise when your right was approved. To opt out of user right expiry notifications, add yourself to m:Global reminder bot/Exclusion. Leaderbot (talk) 19:41, 21 February 2026 (UTC)
