Removing vandalism
Hello, and thank you for removing vandalism from Columbian exchange. We appreciate this, but unfortunately your edit was not successful in restoring the article to its pre-vandalised state. For future reference, it is better to deal with vandalism by checking the article's page history to determine how it appeared before it was vandalised. You can then restore the whole article, or the relevant part of it, to an appropriate earlier version. If you simply delete the visible vandalism then any content removed or overwritten by the vandal is lost. See How to deal with vandalism for details. Thank you. Graham87 (talk) 04:47, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
- Sorry I missed the vandalism in my once-over. Thanks for letting me know! Marchiviste (talk) 14:02, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
April 2024
Hi Marchiviste! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Merrill Piepkorn that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. – Muboshgu (talk) 21:20, 4 April 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks for the clarification! Marchiviste (talk) 00:54, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
2024–25 North Dakota Fighting Hawks men's ice hockey season
Hey, I noticed you did quite a bit of work on the entry to fix the errors. Would you perhaps be up to curating the page as the season progresses? Normally I take care of most of the team pages but I'm spread a bit thin and can only do so much. I appreciate any help, especially from someone who cares enough to devote their time. PensRule11385 (talk) 00:46, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
- Absolutely! I would be glad to.
- Unrelated, but I was looking at Template:Infobox NCAA Division I ice hockey rankings and saw you put it together back in the day, and was looking at creating something new as USA Hockey/The Rink Live now runs the second poll rather than USA Today. I still haven't quite got templates figured out, is this something you'd be up to do and/or help out with? Thanks! Marchiviste (talk) 13:41, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
- I must have completely missed that about USA Today. Because it affects all templates, the original line needs to be kept. I added an additional line specifically for USA Hockey, so that can be used in the future. I don't want to use the whole name (USA Hockey/The Rink Live) because when descriptors in the box are too long it tends to screw up the format.
- BTW, as a side note, Wikipedia does not notify me if you reply to my post on your talk page unless you specifically address it as a response to me rather than a general response. However, I do not know how to make a post like that myself, so I can't advise you. If you want to make sure I see something from you and get a notification, you can post it on my talk page, that way I'll see it the next time I log on. I have sent you a note about a page you started
Hi Marchiviste. Thank you for your work on 2026–27 North Dakota Fighting Hawks men's ice hockey season. Another editor, MPGuy2824, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
this season isn't mentioned in the list
To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|MPGuy2824}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)
-MPGuy2824 (talk) 09:00, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- @MPGuy2824: Yes, it will not be listed there until the conclusion of the 2026–27 season in Spring 2027. Most NCAA ice hockey pages have future pages for seasons redirect to a list of seasons, etc. and I've got that one ready and redirecting to the list of UND seasons as I have been working on the 2025–26 season page and it will be going up as soon as a final roster for 25–26 is released. Marchiviste (talk) 12:52, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- Since there is no mention on the target page, it would lead to readers being surprised. I would suggest that you wait for something to be mentioned on the target page for future redirects that you are planning to create. Happy editing! -MPGuy2824 (talk) 05:34, 26 July 2025 (UTC)
- @MPGuy2824: Sounds good. Thanks! Marchiviste (talk) 13:35, 28 July 2025 (UTC)

College Hockey
Hey, just checking in. I'm glad to see that you've still got North Dakota covered. Since you've been updating the Hawks for a season I think you have an understanding of how time-consuming this can be. If you want to take over any else, or have any ideas on how to improve things, just let me know.
Also, in case you weren't aware, User:DetroitFan7 also does alot with college hockey, focusing mostly on the Big Ten. He may be able to help you if I can't answer any of your questions. PensRule11385 (talk) 23:41, 5 August 2025 (UTC)
- @PensRule11385: Thanks for checking in! I am happy to keep North Dakota updated, I am hoping to get the season summary for 24–25 written up once things slow down for me a bit here, and I've got a draft ready to go for the 25–26 page as soon as the final roster comes out. If anything changes, I will let you know. Marchiviste (talk) 13:03, 6 August 2025 (UTC)

Hockey Polls
Thanks for fixing my spelling mistakes, I had the poll box in a notepad, and hadn't realized my spelling mistake when copy pasting them back into the article. I think the Ranking movements template will make it a lot easier for you and the other hockey guys going forward. Therobertrich (talk) 19:35, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
- @Therobertrich Absolutely! I like it, I think it will be good moving forward. Thanks! Marchiviste (talk) 19:38, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for March 18
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited NCHC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kent Anderson was added. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
