Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Steve Smith (cricketer), disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please specifically see MOS:GEOLINK. We do not need to add anything like 'Steve' or "Steve" when it should be pretty clear that "Steve" is short for his full name "Steven". Servite et contribuere (talk) 10:55, 20 July 2026 (UTC)

I see you reverted Special:Diff/1365340641 this edit from EvergreenFir. This looks to be a mistake on your part. If so, please reinstate it. Otherwise, please justify your reversion. --Yamla (talk) 20:24, 21 July 2026 (UTC)
- My apologies. There was another pending change with a claim not backed by any sources; in the process of reverting that, this edit also has seemingly been reverted. Shubhsamant09 (talk) 20:26, 21 July 2026 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for August 2
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Fiji, a link pointing to the disambiguation page Fijian was added. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hindi in Fiji
Hello! Do you have a source to verify your statements to the effect that specifically Standard Hindi, and not Fiji Hindi, is an official language of Fiji? Largoplazo (talk) 18:52, 3 August 2026 (UTC)
- Hi, the current official constitution from 2013 does not mention any official languages. However, Chapter 1 Section 3 of the Constitution of Fiji addresses the adoption of the Constitution and explicitly mentions the iTaukei (Fijian) and Hindi alongside English. Further, if you click on the Hindi version of the constitution, it is written in Standard Hindi rather than Fiji Hindi. Also, the 1997 Constitution explicitly mentions Standard Hindi (Hindustani) as an official language alongside Fijian. Matthewmurdock (talk) 22:22, 3 August 2026 (UTC)
- But it doesn't say those are official languages of the country. And the 2013 constitution supersedes the 1997 one. That's the point of adopting a new constitution, that the new one takes the place of the old one. Largoplazo (talk) 23:42, 3 August 2026 (UTC)
- The same can also be argued for the official status of any other language, including Fiji Hindi. Which is why we need to rely on circumstantial evidence in this case, like the ones I mentioned in my previous reply. Matthewmurdock (talk) 00:01, 4 August 2026 (UTC)
- We don't rely on editor's deductions based on "circumstantial evidence". That's synthesis, a violation of the no original research policy. Largoplazo (talk) 01:37, 4 August 2026 (UTC)
- Okay, but could you then tell me what evidence there is to support that any language, like Fijian or even English has the official status then? Isn't that a violation of no original research as well. The current 2013 constitution mentions no languages explicitly as "official" or "national" languages. In that case, it would make more sense for us to show Fiji as having no official languages. Matthewmurdock (talk) 03:02, 4 August 2026 (UTC)
