Question from Ronald W. Evans (17:04, 30 November 2025)

Dear Mentor,

I am writing to ask what suggestions you have that may help in my efforts to create a Wikipedia page briefly describing my work as a scholar focused on the conflicts over social studies in schools, a prominent topic in the national media at this time. My work is widely cited by scholars in academic journals and books as evidenced in Google Scholar (3,929 citations: see https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=ECeOopQAAAAJ&hl=en).

Thank you, Ron Evans --Ronald W. Evans (talk) 17:04, 30 November 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Ronald W. Evans thanks for checking in - I have to say it's prob better not to write about yourself here. If you are notable by wikipedia standards (which often does not correspond with real world notability) then someone will make an entry about you, using secondary sources. The specific notability criteria for academics is outlined at WP:NACADEMIC. Mujinga (talk) 18:13, 30 November 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for your response. I read the notability criteria for academics and I meet at least two of the criteria.:
  1. "The person's research has had a significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources." Evidence: Independent review appearing in Theory and Research in Social Education, the leading academic research journal in social studies.https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/pdf/10.1080/00933104.2012.674422 See esp. the last few lines. Also named an Outstanding Academic Title, Choice Magazine, 2004, The Social Studies Wars: What Should We Teach the Children? (New York: Teachers College Press, 2004). Fewer than 3% of academic titles receive this recognition. My research has had a significant impact in the discipline. I am widely viewed as the leading historian of social studies in the US.
  2. "The person has received a highly prestigious academic award or honor at a national or international level." Evidence: I received the 2015 Jean Dresden Grambs Distinguished Career Research Award, the 2015 Exemplary Research Award, and the 2008 Exemplary Research in Award from the National Council for the Social Studies, and several other national awards: https://ronaldwevans.wordpress.com/awards/

Hi @Ronald W. Evans. As I said and as you have been advised at User talk:Ronald W. Evans, writing about yourself tends not be a good idea. Your article wouldn't currently pass wikipedia notability standards, 4 of the 5 sources are written by yourself. Maybe ask at Wikipedia:WikiProject Sociology for help? Question from WozzaO (03:57, 1 December 2025)

Hi ; My daughter is listed on Wiki as part of the Thai Women's Football team, I want to add some background information about her. I made some notes on a 'talk' page that I would like to use if possible. --WozzaO (talk) 03:57, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi @WozzaO anything you add needs to be cited to reliable sources. And it's best to declare your conflict of interest too. Happy editing, Mujinga (talk) 03:59, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Question from TRFS1585 (16:17, 1 December 2025)

Hello Mujinga, I am hoping you can guide me on my first article submission. I have a conflict of interest with the subject, a company called Tyto Robotics; a Canadian company that provides analytical instruments and software to global UAV manufacturers and researchers. I understand the due to this COI, I should not create the article directly. I would like to create a draft on Articles for Creation page and request that an independent editor review and publish it, once I have fully disclosed my relationship. I'm prepared to provide all the necessary independent sources about the company (journal articles, research papers etc). Could you advise me on the best way to proceed with the AfC process and ensure my disclosure is compliant? --TRFS1585 (talk) 16:17, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi @TRFS1585 and thanks for checking in. You've prob already read Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide as it was linked from your talkpage. Wikipedia:Articles for creation describes the submission process. Cheers! Mujinga (talk) 19:27, 1 December 2025 (UTC)

Question from Ssmerdova (10:03, 2 December 2025)

Hello, how can I create a article and its subtitles --Ssmerdova (talk) 10:03, 2 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Ssmerdova, this guide takes you through the process - Help:Introduction to editing with Wiki Markup/1. Best of luck! Mujinga (talk) 10:12, 2 December 2025 (UTC)
Hello @Mujinga Id like to ask, how can I move article from my sandbox to mian page, although I contributed with some edits and my account is old several weeks? Id appreciate some help pls Ssmerdova (talk) 14:48, 1 January 2026 (UTC)
@Ssmerdova well User:Ssmerdova/sandbox is not currently at wikipedia standard. You would need to declare your conflict of interest and further, need citations to high quality sources independent of the subject, which in this case would be reviews in national newspapers or magazines. Then and only then the process is outlined at Wikipedia:Articles for creation Mujinga (talk) 08:34, 2 January 2026 (UTC)
how can I request change of username and email? Ssmerdova (talk) 08:45, 2 January 2026 (UTC)

Question from Being Nadeeem (11:34, 3 December 2025)

i published an Wiki profile but not approved --Being Nadeeem (talk) 11:34, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Being Nadeeem looks like you put it to Articles for Creation then withdrew it again? The process to follow is outlined at Wikipedia:Articles for creation. Would be good if you got your head round wikipedia stylistic conventions before submitting! Best, Mujinga (talk) 13:23, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

Question from Scanmiuk (19:27, 3 December 2025)

Hi Mujinga, I’m working on improving a draft biography for a fashion designer (Draft:Davanh DiMarco). I want to make sure the article follows Wikipedia’s notability and style guidelines. Would you be willing to look at the draft and let me know if the tone, sourcing, and structure meet the requirements for a biography of a living person? I want to be sure everything is formatted correctly before resubmitting it to Articles for Creation. Thank you for any guidance, it’s appreciated. --Scanmiuk (talk) 19:27, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

hi @Scanmiuk and welcome to wikipedia. there's a difference between wikipedia-determined notability and real life fame. i'm not sure if Draft:Davanh DiMarco would be approved via Wikipedia:Articles for creation because in terms of wikipedia notability the article seems minimal and mainly based around the arson incident Mujinga (talk) 17:46, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
Thanks for the clarification. I understand the distinction between Wikipedia notability and real-life visibility. I do want to mention that Davanh and I are the subjects of several independent articles where our names appear in the headline or URL slug, including the CNN segment with Jake Tapper and the Women’s Wear Daily article that profiles her specifically as a Los Angeles designer. Those sources cover her directly as an identifiable subject, not only as part of the larger event.
Also, the earlier version of the draft was written using wording taken closely from the sources themselves, but it was rejected for tone/AI formatting, which is why I rewrote it in a simpler and more neutral style.
I’d appreciate any guidance on how to better reflect the sourcing so the draft aligns with Wikipedia’s notability standards. Scanmiuk (talk) 19:49, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
Scanmiuksure - I'd say read other similar articles and see how they are structured and remain neutral in tone, then submit to Wikipedia:Articles for creation - happy editing! Mujinga (talk) 19:52, 4 December 2025 (UTC)

Question from Scanmiuk (19:28, 3 December 2025)

Hi Mujinga, I recently submitted an edit request on the Talk page for the Scott Mitchell (wide receiver) article because there has been major new independent coverage about me since the page was last updated. I want to make sure the way I structured the request follows Wikipedia’s guidelines for tone, sourcing, and notability.

If you have a moment, could you look at the request and let me know if the format and approach are appropriate? I’m not asking for approval, just making sure I followed the correct editing process. Thank you. --Scanmiuk (talk) 19:28, 3 December 2025 (UTC)

@Scanmiuk thanks for checking in about this, what you have done seems fine, we are all volunteers here so now you just have to wait for a volunteer to answer on your requested edits. Mujinga (talk) 17:48, 4 December 2025 (UTC)
Thank you for taking a look at it and the reply. Scanmiuk (talk) 19:38, 4 December 2025 (UTC)

Question from Sanjayprajapat716 (09:11, 5 December 2025)

I have created a page for my company, but it is not getting approved even though I have tried to follow Wikipedia’s terms and conditions. Could you please guide me on what changes I need to make so that the page meets Wikipedia’s requirements and can be approved? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:RoboMQ

Thank you. --Sanjayprajapat716 (talk) 09:11, 5 December 2025 (UTC)

Well, I'd suggest reading Help:Your first article. Draft:RoboMQ is far from establishing notbility and it is not a good idea to write about your own company. This is an encyclopedia. Mujinga (talk) 13:54, 5 December 2025 (UTC)
am an employee of this company. Could you please guide me on what steps we need to take to get our company listed on Wikipedia? Sanjayprajapat716 (talk) 04:56, 8 December 2025 (UTC)
First off, I would advise reading Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Best, Mujinga (talk) 08:43, 8 December 2025 (UTC)
Hi Mujinga,
Thank you for your patience and for guiding me earlier. I’ve now carefully read the Conflict of Interest guidelines and I understand why Wikipedia is strict about this. I just want to clarify that this company isn’t mine. I’m only an employee trying to understand how the process works.
I’ve checked the company documents and gathered coverage from reliable, independent sources like Forbes and other reputed publications. Could you please take a moment to check and let me know whether the company’s name and the sources meet Wikipedia’s notability requirements? I don’t want to violate any rules, so your guidance would really help before I try creating the page again.
Last time the draft was marked as spam, and I’m not sure if it was because of mistakes from my side or something else. I just want to do things the right way. If you could guide me on what exactly needs improvement, I would truly appreciate it. Thank you again for your time and support. Sanjayprajapat716 (talk) 12:01, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
Hiya @Sanjayprajapat716 Where are the sources? You can put your three best ones here for feedback if you like. Mujinga (talk) 16:59, 11 December 2025 (UTC)
Here are a few independent, third-party sources that mention RoboMQ and its products. I’ve tried to select the most substantial ones rather than press announcements. I’d really appreciate your feedback on whether these are the kind of sources Wikipedia looks for when assessing notability:
  1. AP News – Coverage of RoboMQ product developments and business activity https://apnews.com/article/technology-business-cloud-computing-services-corporate-news-products-and-services-825c98d504c79ca8dd8972db51944e80
  2. Yahoo Finance – Independent business news article covering RoboMQ product launches https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/robomq-launches-major-product-enhancements-230000836.html
  3. Enterprise Times – Mention of RoboMQ in a weekly technology news roundup https://www.enterprisetimes.co.uk/2023/03/27/news-from-the-week-beginning-20th-march-2023/
  4. Forbes (Council article) – RoboMQ leadership referenced in a Forbes platform article https://www.forbes.com/councils/theyec/2019/01/16/developing-a-major-project-eight-ways-to-improve-planning/
I understand that some sources may not qualify as significant coverage, and I’m happy to be corrected. Before making any further edits or resubmitting a draft, I wanted to check whether these sources are suitable or if different types of coverage would be required.
Thanks again for your time and guidance — it’s much appreciated. Sanjayprajapat716 (talk) 11:27, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
So:
1 - a press release via https://www.newswire.com/news/robomq-offers-certified-servicenow-integration-connectors-on-connect-21366073, not independent
2 - "This is a paid press release", not independent
3 - minor mention
4 - minor mention
If these are your best sources I don't think there's enough to write an encyclopedia article about RoboMQ Mujinga (talk) 17:49, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
Thanks, Mujinga. I understand your point, and I agree that the current sources aren’t sufficient for an encyclopedic article yet. I don’t want to push this before it clearly meets Wikipedia’s notability and sourcing guidelines.
I’ll focus on building stronger, independent coverage over time, and once there’s more substantial third-party reporting, I’ll share the links here for feedback before attempting to recreate the draft. That way I can make sure I’m following the guidelines properly and not repeating the same mistakes.
Thanks again for your patience and for taking the time to explain this so clearly. I really appreciate the guidance. Sanjayprajapat716 (talk) 04:31, 28 January 2026 (UTC)
@Sanjayprajapat716 thanks for giving me an update and best of luck! Mujinga (talk) 10:48, 28 January 2026 (UTC)

Help with updating Eshy Gazit artical

Hello, and thank you for your work on the Eshy Gazit article.

I have a conflict of interest as I am the subject of the article, so I am not making any direct edits. However, I have prepared a fully sourced draft in my sandbox and would appreciate your guidance or review.

Draft: User:Intertwinerecords/sandbox

A list of reliable sources supporting the improvements is available on the article’s Talk page.

If you have time, I would greatly appreciate your input or any advice on how best to proceed following Wikipedia policies (WP:BLP, WP:COI, WP:V, WP:RS).

Thank you. --Intertwinerecords (talk) 09:45, 6 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Intertwinerecords the way to proceed here is to follow Wikipedia:Edit requests. Mujinga (talk) 12:53, 6 December 2025 (UTC)

Question from KlieneWiki (15:43, 6 December 2025)

Is it necessary to add citations linked to other websites if I edit scientific and quantifiable information? If so, how can I do it? --KlieneWiki (talk) 15:43, 6 December 2025 (UTC)

@KlieneWiki yes if you add info, it should be cited to a reliable source. more on how that works here - Wikipedia:Citing sources Mujinga (talk) 17:54, 6 December 2025 (UTC)

Question from WilliamAftonHere (09:32, 7 December 2025)

How to activate bots? --William Afton From FNAF (talk) 09:32, 7 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi @WilliamAftonHere do you mean how to use bots to make automated edits? Mujinga (talk) 17:33, 7 December 2025 (UTC)
I guess so William Afton From FNAF (talk) 18:49, 7 December 2025 (UTC)
The process is outlined at (to take one example) Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser but it's probably best as a beginner to concentrate on understanding how wikipedia works first off, Help:Editing is a good place to start. Best, Mujinga (talk) 08:46, 8 December 2025 (UTC)

Question from QuietJosef (04:35, 9 December 2025)

Hey Mujinga,

I was wondering what the protocol is for citations that point to webpages that no longer exist. --QuietJosef (talk) 04:35, 9 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi @QuietJosef that's a great question. The first step is not to delete but rather to try to preserve - WP:DEADREF covers this in detail. Happy editing! Mujinga (talk) 09:07, 9 December 2025 (UTC)

Question from Scooter McLefty on Model United Nations (23:44, 9 December 2025)

Hello! I am looking at this article to copy edit and I do not see anything that seems overtly subjective. Are there phrases/terms or things that help indicate this? Also how do I add a (citiation needed) tag?

Thanks! --Scooter McLefty (talk) 23:44, 9 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Scooter McLefty, were you suggested the page to edit? If so, just move on to the next suggestion. You'll pick up the ropes through experience just like everyone else! Wikipedia:Citation needed explains about how to add that tag. Cheers, Mujinga (talk) 12:22, 10 December 2025 (UTC)
Yeah it was a suggestion from Wikipedia. I appreciate it! Scooter McLefty (talk) 16:30, 10 December 2025 (UTC)

Taylor & Hart Draft: Best 3 sources

Hi there, I am sharing the best 3 sources and hoping this can help with the approval of the Taylor & Hart page. Here they are:

https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/business/consumer/leeds-photographer-creates-nationwide-advertising-campaign-shot-entirely-on-facetime-3066910

https://uk.fashionnetwork.com/news/Jeweller-taylor-hart-opens-uk-workshop,1188263.html

https://www.foxnews.com/lifestyle/jeweler-haribo-inspired-engagement-ring

These are only a few of the best sources, there's a lot more but I didn't want to overload the page. Let me know if that works for you! Thank you! Violetsorrengail (talk) 15:08, 12 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Violetsorrengail, if those are the three best sources, I don't think this article is suitable for wikipedia. We require significant coverage in reliable sources - 1/ is a brief mention of an advertising campaign 2/ is a press release 3/ is ok-sih, but see WP:FOXNEWS. Sorry I'm sure that's not what you want to hear, but not everything is notable on wikipedia standards. Mujinga (talk) 18:15, 12 December 2025 (UTC)
Hi @Mujinga, thanks for the feedback. I don't want to argue but all of these are providing honest, genuine coverage that has not been paid for, they are secondary and even if some are off the back of a press release, the subject matter is still worth covering and has been picked up by international press naturally. I guess what I don't understand and why I'm struggling is the fact that pages like this one: Baby Gold are allowed then? Violetsorrengail (talk) 10:12, 15 December 2025 (UTC)
I would agree the sourcing on Baby Gold isn't great, altho at least the VoyageLA is ok. But standards have changed between 2021 and now. Mujinga (talk) 17:46, 17 December 2025 (UTC)

Question from 1562camille (16:51, 12 December 2025)

Question from Runningonsugar (19:20, 12 December 2025)

yo, my edit got removed by a guy called monkeysmashingkeyboard. It was not vandalism, just a contribution. It was on the "Pavlice, Znojmo District" page --Runningonsugar (talk) 19:20, 12 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Runningonsugar, yes your edit was reverted (nicely) because you added three redlinked businesses without providing a citation, over at Pavlice (Znojmo District). That's how wikipedia works, and it's all tracked in the "view history" tab for every article - https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Pavlice_(Znojmo_District)&action=history. Cheers, Mujinga (talk) 11:05, 13 December 2025 (UTC)
should i just not put the brackets around them then? Runningonsugar (talk) 20:08, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
@Runningonsugar the issue is that you didn't provide a citation to significant coverage in a reliable source Mujinga (talk) 14:17, 15 December 2025 (UTC)

Mentor welcome templates

Hi, Mujinga, I notice you have been welcoming mentees to Wikipedia; thanks for that, and bravo! I just signed up as a mentor recently, and found the sole welcome template, {{Mentor welcome}}, wanting. So, I created {{Welcome mentee}} and have started to use that one. Feel free to use it as well, and let me know how you like it. I am active on the Welcoming committee, and I think we need a selection of mentor templates available to us to choose from; spare ones like {{Welcome}}, graphical ones for some users like {{Welcome to Wikipedia}}, and others. In some cases, it might be sufficient simply to add a mentor or Homepage link to some of the existing welcome templates. Feel free to add any ideas you have on this to the template talk page, or contact me on my Talk page. Thanks! Mathglot (talk) 12:36, 14 December 2025 (UTC)

Howdo @Mathglot thanks for that and the rest of the stuff you do round here. I agree with the need for a new template and I'll drop any ideas in, if I have any. Cheers Mujinga (talk) 13:44, 14 December 2025 (UTC)
Howdy back! I don't know if you've run into this situation, but even if I sit on my dashboard and jump on a new mentee as soon as they are listed, a good part of the time they have already been welcomed by somebody else using a standard welcome template. (This appears to be related to some delay in mentees appearing on the dashboard.) I still want to introduce myself to my mentee, but not with either of the two mentor templates we have now because they are too long and would duplicate a lot of the information in a standard welcome. So, I created {{welcome mentee brief}} for this situation, i.e., to briefly introduce yourself as their mentor. And it even has an option to say, I'd also like to welcome you... so it flows better after the first welcome. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 23:38, 17 December 2025 (UTC)

Question from Nojnam (14:34, 18 December 2025)

Hello and thanks for mentoring me. I just made a change to the entry on Robert Mosher, architect. There was a reference in it to him having been an apprentice to the well-known architect Frank Lloyd Wright. I removed it because the architectural apprentice to Wright was a different Robert Mosher, whom I happened to know. If my edit was done incorrectly I would be glad to learn that! --Nojnam (talk) 14:34, 18 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Nojnam, nice name and welcome to wikipedia. You were bold and made the change which is good, you explained your reasons which is also good. Strictly speaking edit summaries are not for communication about why you made a change but for explaining what you did but in this case I think what you did works. Normally we might use the talkpage, in this case Talk:Robert_Mosher to discuss. Nice one and happy editing. Mujinga (talk) 18:27, 18 December 2025 (UTC)

@JoeA700 yeah that works and you can add the disclosure to the talkpage Mujinga (talk) 14:04, 29 December 2025 (UTC)
Thanks Mujinga! I have drafted this page: User:JoeA700/sandbox/ServicePower. I know it needs more work; in particular, my initial questions are:
- how do I now add the disclosure to this page?
- I probably did not do the embedded links correctly -- should I also add them to the reference section? What other changes should I make to them?
Thanks, Joe JoeA700 (talk) 14:29, 29 December 2025 (UTC)
@JoeA700 just saw this now. you add the disclosure to the talkpage, which at the moment is Usertalk:JoeA700/sandbox/ServicePower. by embedded links do you mean the wikilinks? yes they should not be in the references, but bluelinked - Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Linking Mujinga (talk) 16:07, 30 December 2025 (UTC)

Greetings Mentor

I was informed you are assigned as my current mentor. I probably won't do much very soon, but I may in the near future want to add a section to the Chimney Rock, Nebraska entry regarding erosion of the peak and submit a new entry on a popular pseudoscience figure which I think would be helpful in debunking claims and supporting real science.

I have no questions at this time but wanted to introduce myself. Cheers for the new year. FreelanceMinion (talk) 17:54, 29 December 2025 (UTC)

Question from Anderson Xiang (10:30, 30 December 2025)

Hi Mentor Mujinga,

In November, I was tasked by my company to create a Wikipedia page for our product (an app). A month has passed, and it seems little progress has been made. Could you help me identify what might be the issue?

Here's the link to the Wikipedia page I created:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Anderson_Xiang/sandbox --Anderson Xiang (talk) 10:30, 30 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi @Anderson Xiang well you have created a draft but not submitted it so nobody has reviewed it. I will add that in its current form it will not be accepted as a wikipedia article since it doesn't follow the basic requirements for an article, the major issue being that many statements are not back by a reference to significant coverage in an independent and reliable source such as a national magazine or newspaper. Mujinga (talk) 12:04, 30 December 2025 (UTC)
Thank you very much, Mentor Mujinga. Our app has been featured in three media outlets: “The Washington Post,” “USA Today,” and “Romper.” Below are links to the three articles. The most influential one, from The Washington Post, contained negative information. Could you advise me on what types of media and type of coverage would meet Wikipedia's criteria for reliable sources?

Page to submit

Hi Mujinga, thanks for all the help and guidance you have provided. I have made edits to the page including several citations. Do you think it is ready to submit now? User:JoeA700/sandbox/ServicePower Thanks, Joe JoeA700 (talk) 14:29, 30 December 2025 (UTC)

Hi @JoeA700 no I wouldn't say it's ready, it doesn't fit the wikipedia style which you can see by comparing it to other articles and I'm not sure if the company is actually notable on wikistandards. Have you already read Help:Your first article? Mujinga (talk) 16:05, 30 December 2025 (UTC)
Hi Mujinga, thanks. I tried to follow the style -- brief overview, history, notable acquisitions, technology provided. I was trying to follow several examples. Here is one similar company: ServiceTitan. As for notable, not sure the exact standards, as the articles mentioned it is not an exact science. The company has been researched and reported on several times, for example, by leading industry analysts such as Gartner ($6B plus revenue), IDC, and others, and its software is in use by Global 100 and Fortune 500 companies.
Appreciate any guidance. JoeA700 (talk) 16:28, 30 December 2025 (UTC)

Question from Howard Cramer (18:03, 8 January 2026)

Hi

I would like please information about a UK charity I am a trustee of, this is a first draft...

Wind Empowerment is an international network of organisations, practitioners, and researchers dedicated to the development, manufacturing, and deployment of locally built small wind turbines, particularly in remote and off-grid regions.

The network focuses on open-source designs, capacity building, and knowledge exchange to support renewable energy access in communities with limited electricity infrastructure.

Founded in 2010, Wind Empowerment brings together a global membership—including non-profit organisations, universities, training centers, and independent engineers; to collaborate on technology development, field implementation, and education.

A central part of the network’s work is advancing standardized designs for small wind turbines based on open documentation that allows local manufacturing using accessible tools and materials.

Wind Empowerment also organizes conferences, technical working groups, and training workshops to promote shared learning about wind resource assessment, electrical systems, blades, generators, and community energy systems. Through these activities, the network contributes to rural electrification efforts, supports vocational training, and promotes renewable energy autonomy and resilience in diverse geographic regions. --Howard Cramer (talk) 18:03, 8 January 2026 (UTC)

Hi is your question how to make a wikipedia article about the charity you are a trustee of? Honestly I dont think that is a good idea, wikipedia notability depends on significant coverage in reliable sources eg national newspapers. Your conflict of interest would also need to be declared. Mujinga (talk) 18:15, 8 January 2026 (UTC)

Question from Acholthitchanta (04:51, 9 January 2026)

Hi, could you give me some specific suggestions on this article? I submitted it a few weeks ago and it has been declined. I've resubmitted it and would like your opinion on if it may be accepted or not. Thank you so much. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Solis_and_Luna_Arts

Hi Acholthitchanta and Fayechol I presume you are the same person from your message above. Please sign your messages. You will be forgiven this rookie error but using multiple accounts on wikipedia is not allowed, so please pick one and also declare your conflict of interest per Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. As for the article, it needs citations to at least three examples of significant coverage in reliable sources to prove encyclopedic notability (a different thing to real world notability), I'm not sure if you will be able to do that. Cheers, Mujinga (talk) 09:46, 9 January 2026 (UTC)

Update to Welcome mentee template

Hi, Mujinga, and thanks for continuing to welcome your mentees. The latest update to template {{Welcome mentee}} adds support for new users who are Wiki Ed students enrolled in a university course that partners with the Wiki Education program. These students edit Wikipedia as part of their regular coursework, monitored both by their instructor and by Wiki Ed staff. When you welcome a mentee who is also a Wiki Ed student, you may notice a new paragraph in the welcome message—example here, and doc here. No new parameter or usage change is required on your part; this operates fully automatically. It appears to be working fine, but be aware of the possibility of issues or bugs, and please report any problems on the Template talk page. Thanks! Mathglot (talk) 02:48, 23 January 2026 (UTC)

Hi @Castalia1100 are you Tatiana Eva-Marie or do you know her? That is ok, but needs to be declared under Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Further, as Discospinster has already advised, this is an encyclopedia so we need data cited to coverage published in reliable sources. Perhaps better to start at the beginning with Help:Editing. Women in Green reviewing drive

Hello Mujinga:

This month, February 2026, WikiProject Women in Green is participating in the February 2026 GAN Backlog Drive, in which we're aiming to review as many outstanding Good Article (GA) nominations about women and women's works as possible. If you want to help out, you can check out the project talk page for a list of nominations in need of review (including some WiG originals). If you haven't reviewed a GA nomination before, be sure to check out the reviewing instructions and guidelines and feel free to ask for a mentor to check your work.

We are also working together with a wikithon hosted on 5 February by Wikimedia UK, which will focus on writing and improving articles about women involved in sustainable development. If you want to join the event, feel free to sign up at the eventbrite page; or if you would be interested in providing a 20-minute assessment and/or a full GA review of the submitted articles in the weeks following, put your name down on the project talk page for updates as the event progresses.

We hope to see you there!

Question from Rsmrkng26 (19:40, 3 February 2026)

Hi Mujinga! I created two contributions for new Wikipedia pages that were rejected. I can't figure out how to make it appear "less biased" and where to include more "reliable sources", as the feedback mentioned from why it was rejected. Are you able to help provide me with advice on what to update in my drafts? --Rsmrkng26 (talk) 19:40, 3 February 2026 (UTC)

@Rsmrkng26 hi and welcome to wikipedia. taking a look at Draft:Boston Hand to Shoulder, lots of things jump out. have you used AI to write this? that's not permitted. every paragraph needs at least one citation except the lead which summarises the info below. you have declared your conflict of interest which is good, but perhaps that is blinding you to the main issue which is that I don't think many orthopedic medical practices will ever be notable by wikipedia standards. if you can find significant coverage in reliable sources then please add that. Hello there! I hope you are enjoying yourself! I enjoy adding information about stuff that I am immersed in to help the Wikipedia community learn. I would love to hear your thoughts! -Fastpast93 --Fastpast93 (talk) 09:05, 10 February 2026 (UTC)

Hi @Fastpast93 I would suggest starting off in another tack, by learning how to edit articles. this guide will tell you more: Help:Introduction to editing with Wiki Markup/1 Mujinga (talk) 21:12, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
I have a question @Mujinga, how can new york times (and other paywalled news sites) be reliable sources if you have to pay to use them? Fastpast93 (talk) 00:10, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
Hi @Fastpast93 that is a great question, which shows you are working out for yourself how citing works. The quality of a source depends upon its reliability by wikipedia standards and on those standards, the NYT is a great source since it is a newspaper of international reach with an editorial standard not known for outrageous bias. Of course, some people don't have a paywall for it, some people buy it or subscribe. For the rest of us, this can be annoying becuase then it is harder to check the source, but there are ways to gain access such as Wikipedia:The Wikipedia Library and you can always request a specific article from the NYT or anything else at Wikipedia:RX if you have a need for it in writing an article. Cheers, Mujinga (talk) 08:57, 14 February 2026 (UTC)

Question from PreDigitalLegacies (16:23, 11 February 2026)

Hello,

I hope that you are doing well. I appreciate your extension of help.

As you can see, I'm interested in documenting the amazing talents that slip through the cracks sometimes...especially pre-internet/social media. I have a couple of musicians in mind to start, but would also love to uncover unsung heroes in tech and other areas of entrepreneurship.

To start, it would be great to figure out how to find articles to edit and to also have a second set of eyes prior to submitting my first article.

Any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! --PreDigitalLegacies (talk) 16:23, 11 February 2026 (UTC)

Question from PreDigitalLegacies (17:00, 11 February 2026)

Hi Mujiinga,

I have discovered the editor suggestion function on Wikipedia! lol

Super helpful.

I'm going to start there.

I'd still appreciate your eyeballs on my first submission if you have the time. I know that is a huge ask so I will keep my fingers crossed.

Thank you for your time. --PreDigitalLegacies (talk) 17:00, 11 February 2026 (UTC)

Hi @PreDigitalLegacies that's good you have an interest to expand wikipedia's coverage of pre-internet musicians! For those articles and indeed any others, you need to be citing to significant coverage in reliable sources. So my tip would be to settle on a musician and check how much coverage of them there is. Mujinga (talk) 19:07, 11 February 2026 (UTC)
Thanks for the reply and advice...
I will be doing just that and taking my time to fully learn the Wikipedia system and how it works. Looking forward to making contributions.

Question from TheMixmasta (06:31, 17 February 2026)

Hi! I had drafted my first page about an MMA fighter, and then I copied and pasted it into Wikipedia. Hello! I have a question about moving pages. I noticed that Astrometis is actually a monotypic sea star genus, as the WoRMS page lists the previously disputed species as a synonym. For other pages on monotypic genera, the page is titled the genus name, so I assumed that that should be the case here. Should the page Astrometis sertulifera be moved to the Astrometis namespace? Or should it not be because there is already (a very little) content on that namespace already? Thank you in advance! --Ash assists (talk) 22:39, 17 February 2026 (UTC)

@Ash assists sorry for the late reply, this is beyond my expertise and i would advise asking at over at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Animals where hopefully somebody will be able to help you. Mujinga (talk) 13:40, 20 February 2026 (UTC)

Question from Dabstuh (00:19, 21 February 2026)

Hi Mujinga, how do you edit a page title? I put my suggestions in talk, but is that right? Who can implement such an edit? Thanks. --Dabstuh (talk) 00:19, 21 February 2026 (UTC)

Hi @Dabstuh I guess you are talking about Talk:Ed Crane (politician)? I think what you have done is best for now, to try to start a discussion on the talk page. The current title isn't pigeon-holing so much as a politician, as disambiguating him frokm other Edward Cranes, listed at Edward Crane. Cheers, Mujinga (talk) 13:19, 21 February 2026 (UTC)

What to do when a WP: BRD becomes WP:deadhorse but the issue still remains with the article?

What is the next action when a BRD talk discussion becomes a deadhorse but the issue still remains with the article? Do you edit again and start another BRD, or do you just leave it? Thanks. AnonymusEditor558 (talk) 04:04, 23 February 2026 (UTC)

If you are talking about Montego Bay and User_talk:Mr.choppers#Montego_Bay_article then I'd just chalk it down to experience and move on to another article. Happy editing! Mujinga (talk) 08:38, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
What do you mean by "chalking it down to experience"? AnonymusEditor558 (talk) 11:44, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
Hi @AnonymusEditor558 it's an expression, it means something like onwards and upwards Mujinga (talk) 22:13, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
Ok. I see. Thank you! AnonymusEditor558 (talk) 03:59, 25 February 2026 (UTC)

Question from ZDetective (20:27, 26 February 2026)

Hello, how not to get reverted your written article?? --ZDetective (talk) 20:27, 26 February 2026 (UTC)

Hi @ZDetective I guess you refer to Nilphamari City. If the article conforms to wikipedia-standards and features at least one citation to a reliable source per paragraph, that would be a good start. And on a quick look you seem to be doing that so well done. Mujinga (talk) 11:13, 28 February 2026 (UTC)

Question from GLNintern (17:37, 5 March 2026)

Hey, I'm an intern from the Global Language Network (GLN) in Washington DC and have been tasked with creating a page for our business. I was an editor back when I was in middle school on a different account, but I never created a page from scratch before, and I've honestly forgotten a lot of the mechanics in the time that has passed. Do you have any advice about how to get started? --GLNintern (talk) 17:37, 5 March 2026 (UTC)

hI @GLNintern, welcome back to wikipedia, unfortunately I would not advise making an article for the business you are employed by. I would expect anything you make for that to be deleted under WP:PROMOTION. Mujinga (talk) 22:15, 5 March 2026 (UTC)
That makes sense. Do you have any suggestions about how to encourage other people to make one? My boss keeps asking if I am making any progress on this, but I do not know where to go from here. GLNintern (talk) 13:06, 16 March 2026 (UTC)
Hi @GLNintern your boss has a strange attitude towards an encyclopedia. The usual response is to say that if the business is notable on wikipedia standards (which I doubt), someone else will make it. Hope that helps! Mujinga (talk) 18:22, 16 March 2026 (UTC)

Question from Vg1983 (03:23, 8 March 2026)

Hello dear mentor, I have been thinking about uploading a short 20 second snippet of a song under the fair use section. How do I upload the song without infringing copyright? Vg1983 --Vg1983 (talk) 03:23, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Hi @Vg1983 that's a good question and i had to search myself for the relevant guideline. That is Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Music samples so I'd advise reading that and be welcome back here to ask further questions. Of first importance, it says "As a rule of thumb, samples should not exceed 30 seconds or 10% of the length of the original song, whichever is shorter." Happy editing, Mujinga (talk) 10:59, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
Hi,
Thanks. I uploaded it.
Cheers. Vg1983 (talk) 15:36, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Question from Victor987654321 (11:59, 11 March 2026)

Hi, how do you make your own profile page. like were you can say "this user is x y z" or put stuff on. --Victor987654321 (talk) 11:59, 11 March 2026 (UTC)

Hi @Victor987654321 you found it I see, it's at User:Victor987654321. You can put stuff there about wikipedia-related things, I would advise you not to dox yourself, especially if you are under 18. Happy editing! Mujinga (talk) 14:36, 11 March 2026 (UTC)

Question from JasonLacerda 1 (07:26, 17 March 2026)

Hello Mujinga, I made an article on Menino Figueiredo I was recently told the image I used of him was copyright even though I own that image as it was taken by me in 2020 . I’m also told to stop editing I have no idea why and have been accused of being suspicious I see no reason for this as all I did was just make an article. Thanks --JasonLacerda 1 (talk) 07:26, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

Hi @JasonLacerda 1 you have made the COI declaration and things seem to be progressing ok, I would suggest following the guidance at User_talk:JasonLacerda_1#Managing_a_conflict_of_interest. For an image, you simply need to declare the copyright in the right way at wikicommons, that process is begun at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:First_steps/Uploading_files. Hope that helps, Mujinga (talk) 08:21, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
I understand the coi but everything I wrote is officially given reference and has number of news articles of it I didn’t write anything of my own I just wrote truth . JasonLacerda 1 (talk) 09:24, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
It's a learning process! I'm not sure what else to say since you are following the correct procedure. Mujinga (talk) 18:12, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
Im being told I can’t edit because of coi and i have to request permission to edit my own article which I wrote also today I’ve had so much difficulties trying to get permission to upload a picture of Menino Figueiredo their asking me the camera model and everything which makes no sense and it’s still under procedure . JasonLacerda 1 (talk) 18:15, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
Like I said you are following the procedure, so hopefully you'll get there in the end Mujinga (talk) 22:24, 17 March 2026 (UTC)

Question from Poppyandmarigold (15:24, 18 March 2026)

Note: Poppyandmarigold's mentor Endrabcwizart is away.

I have published an article about Mission Marigold, but it does not appear in Google search results — meaning it has not been indexed by Google. What are the possible reasons for this, and what steps can I take to get it indexed so that it shows up when someone searches for 'Mission Marigold'? --Poppyandmarigold (talk) 15:24, 18 March 2026 (UTC)

Oh I have no idea, presumably it takes a few days, you could always ask at Wikipedia:Teahouse Mujinga (talk) 23:37, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
