Speedy deletion nomination of Bloco B

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Bloco B requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. jolielover♥talk 15:42, 5 April 2025 (UTC)

Sorry but why is this page deleted?? I’ve linked plenty of citations and surprised they don’t have a page! No it isn’t the first article I’ve added or edited either. the impending collapse of it all (talk) 16:38, 5 April 2025 (UTC)
The page was deleted because it was tagged for speedy deletion as WP:A7 by an editor. As the reviewing admin, I agreed that it met the speedy deletion criteria as there was no credible assertion of importance for this musical group. Although you linked plenty of citations, the group's web site, facebook, instagram and press releases are not reliable sources. I can restore the article to draft space fro you to work on improving it if you wish. -- Whpq (talk) 18:36, 5 April 2025 (UTC)
Yes I do wish. There’s 25 of them and they’ve played every major uk festival and are highly regarded in the samba scene. Shocking this got deleted! the impending collapse of it all (talk) 18:45, 5 April 2025 (UTC)
I have restored this to draft space. -- Whpq (talk) 18:52, 5 April 2025 (UTC)

Bloco B moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Bloco B. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Whpq (talk) 18:50, 5 April 2025 (UTC)

No need to be so cold about stuff. We already talked about this. How is their own site not a credible source by the way?? the impending collapse of it all (talk) 18:54, 5 April 2025 (UTC)
WP:NOTABILITY spells out all the details, but essentially you need to show significant coverage in independent reliable sources in order to establish that this band should have an article on Wikipedia. Their own web site is obviously not an independent source. -- Whpq (talk) 19:00, 5 April 2025 (UTC)
However it should be classed as credible since it’s their own site! the impending collapse of it all (talk) 19:42, 5 April 2025 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited WOMADelaide, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Carlos Nunez. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ  Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 07:55, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
