Introduction to contentious topics
You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days, and you are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on any page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. - Hey @ShepGlennon! Your article on Lillian Rosengarten falls under the guidelines of an WP:ECR topic (the Arab-Israeli conflict). Since you have not yet accumulated 500 edits on wikipedia, you are not able to edit in this topic area yet. Per Wikipedia policy, ECR articles created by non-ECR users are to be nominated for speedy deletion, and I have done as such. Once you reach 500 edits, you will be able to resume editing in that particular topic area. I know that this is a frustrating outcome, especially given the effort you've put into the article. I strongly encourage you to continue editing, and you'll reach ECR before you know it. EaglesFan37 (talk) 05:31, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
- I have just removed the tag nominating this article for speedy deletion. This is intended as a one-off exception, because ShepGlennon is a new user and may be unaware of the rule that users with fewer than 500 edits may not edit content relating to the Arab-Israeli conflict.
- @ShepGlennon, please be careful to avoid any further editing in relation to the Arab-Israeli conflict until after you have reached 500 edits, since now that you are aware of the rule further exceptions are unlikely to be made. Dionysodorus (talk) 15:22, 24 May 2026 (UTC)
