Might be up your alley: User:Very Polite Person/draft/Outline of artificial satellites
It's a very different experience from prose article - like leaner but harder because it's all about organization/curation/mapping, I'd been wanting to do this for a while since working on the others. Feel free to jump in, I can use help on the small annotated sentences there for each link. The outline/list standard is to be very comprehensive, not as gated as standard articles. — Very Polite Person (talk/contribs) 15:43, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
- Wow that's huge! Are you aware of Template:Annotated_link? Might save a lot of work on annotations since it uses the page's short description automatically.
- Also, I see there are a lot of individual satellites listed. There are already many lists of satellites out there (see Category:Lists of satellites), I wonder if it would be worth linking to those instead? ToadalChaos (talk) 16:07, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
- I thought about ANL (I use it on my user page for my lists), but I wanted to go with 1 prose line for each entry. Ideally the I was thinking like this here on these edits, so repurposing / rewording the principle sentence off each page with updated/appropriate refs. The other article then does the local lifting.
- And yeah, definitely lists of satellites: the page could carry 3000 wikilinks otherwise. I figured the major/notable ones would last as own entries, and just overstuff/prune back first. — Very Polite Person (talk/contribs) 16:10, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
- And deduplicate periodically, I'm not going to sweat that while it's in user space. :) — Very Polite Person (talk/contribs) 16:11, 10 June 2026 (UTC)
